How does my fiance obtain his long form birth certificate? We attempted to do it on the Ontario.ca website, but they wanted something called a guarantor. We aren't sure what that is, but it seems like its too much of a headache. Can someone please help ASAP?!?!

09-09-2013: Green Card mailed out via USPS 2-Day Air

We applied for my husbands online from Ontario. They asked for a lot of specific information about birth weight and name of the Dr and such. We put our pastor from church as our guarantor, but if you know someone who is a licensed engineer or something that would work too. They didn't actually call our guarantor, but you never know if they will. I would think that if you are in Ontario you should be able to go in to a government office and file the paperwork to request it.

I did mine online from the same website. It was done faster than the 15 days they say as well. I think I used my dentist as my guarantor, there is a list online of different possible guarantors. I am sure there is someone you guys use from the list, maybe just call or email them to ask/let them know in case they do call.

I worked for a pharmacy at the time, so I just made the pharmacist be my guarantor. You'll find someone but its definitely needed :)

I-751 file: 11/07/11

NOA1 date: 11/10/11

Biometrics: 11/30/11

Approval: 08/17/12

Read the instructions they provide on the website - they provide a list of people you can use for your guarantor (including people like your family dentist). My brother just recently ordered his daughter's and used my parent's minister since he knows the family. Thne guarantor doesn't usually get a call but I suppose it's a 'just in case' type of thing. Since your fiancé is ordering his own he shouldnt; ahve a problem.

Once ordered if all info is correct it doesn't take long to receive at all.
