When we got married I had to go thro a medical by the US military, I also tested positive to TB, I had the BCG also as a child, my reaction site was over 19mm, my x ray was clear but I am now taking the meds because I don't want it to be an issue in the future. I don't believe I have been in contact with TB but research shows me that the US often prescribe this toxic medication far more than is necessary.

It is also good to be aware that the BCG does not provide life long resistance to TB....15 yrs max. But those of us that have had this vaccination will always show a 'positive', the reason dept of health recommended I take the meds was because of the size of the reaction, it was larger than expected for someone who has had the BCG.

I have worked in health care all of my adult life which also puts me at higher risk of being in contact with TB. I am taking the meds to appease rather than agreeing tho I might add. Even if I have been in contact and take these drugs there is no saying I won't be in contact with it again in the future....then what? I have TB anti bodies...always gonna show positive.

Madness.
