This is easy. Just ask his CO ( Commanding Officer). I wore my uniform at my sisters wedding with the blessing of my CO. I think he should wear it with pride he puts his life on the line for his country. Tell him thank you from me for serving his country and good luck with your interview.

do you think its a good idea if my husband will be in his army uniform on the day of our interview???

First let me state my qualification in saying this. I am a 30 year US military veteran. There is no problem in wearing it during his wife/or fiance's interview. Where it would be problematic is if the current SOFA (status of forces agreement) with the Philippine government allows US military personnel to wear military uniforms in and around the Philippines.

I know that there are only certain occasions where this is allowed such as a military exercise, formal military balls where US Personnel are invited, parades where US forces are invited to attend, etc. We should note that even the JUSMAG people don't wear their uniforms in or around the US Embassy.

One of the posters here suggested checking with his CO first before doing this and he is absolutely correct.

But IMO if it is authorized, IT WOULD HELP HIS CASE!!!! I AM PROUD OF MY UNIFORM and would wear it anytime I could.

I would not for many reasons, (yes I am a 30 year veteran also))

1. In the Philippines I would be sweating like a pig.

2. The CO would know immediately what was up.

3. Most importantly - Never draw attention to yourself when it is not necessary. I still work on a US military installation, and this is a mandatory briefing to us yearly. In a foreign country, never identify yourself as a US military person unless it is required for duty. In the Embassy you would be OK, but travel to and from, you should not identify yourself as a US military person. Would hate to read about you snatched from a cab and taken to the "province". It has happened to americans, and an active duty military person would be a greater prize.

Thinking back, my husband has never worn his uniform (ACUs or Dress Blues) for any USCIS-related appointment or interview except for my Biometrics appointment but only because he was working that day and was just dropping me off at the ASC (I don't have a driver's license yet). He only wears his uniform for official Army business. The only time he's ever worn his Dress Blues outside of Army events is for our wedding. Besides, from everything in our file, the USCIS already knows that he's Active Duty Army ^__^;; I don't think there's any need to wear it to a USCIS interview.

But, YMMV. If you absolutely think you NEED to wear the uniform, everybody else is right, just ask his CO if it's okay to do so.

In that case, I see no issue with it. In the original post we didnt know where the interview was going to take place. Did you just update your filed for and timeline? I thought it said something different when I replied before...which is why I thought you were in the PI.
