They made no judgement about whether a high score is "better" than a low score. A high score indicated being morally parsimonious, i.e. having fewer broad moral principles that apply to all situations. For example, I had a 100% in the "scale" aspect because I answered the question about murdering 1 person to save 10 people the same as murdering 100,000 people to save 1,000,000. My feelings on the morality of the situation didn't change just because there were more people involved.
