Does anyone know if the rain and flooding has abated in Manila and medical exams at SLEC are occurring normally again? My fiance and her friend are thinking of going to Manila for their medical this week.

Thanks!

As of Monday and today all is good. But a Tropical Storm moving in and the Monsoon, they are predicting heavy rains again for Manila for today and the next couple days. They are on high alert here. There are still villages north that have waters that people are neck high in. ALL of the dams are at Max and with the new storms heading here, they were releasing water out of Dams yesterday, which isn't good. I would say monitor the weather, I know it's extremely hard here.

I personally would be trying to get as much done as possible regardless of the weather. If they are closed, well not much can be done about that. But they are currently open.. And from a couple of the hotels which are extremely safe, its a walking distance to the Embassy and St. Lukes.. Good Luck

We were going to use the Gran Prix hotel which is about 4 blocks south of SLEC. Is that one safe?

Thanks!

What you get from SLEC is not a civil surgeon's letter, just a slip that shows completion of medical and immunizations. If a foreigner arrives in the US and completes AOS within one year of the SLEC medical, and there were no problems with the medical, the civil surgeon's letter is not needed (at least for K-1 visa holders). Not sure if it would be required after one year, but it might.

I heard you needed one signed by them by the time your fiance gets here for completion of immunization. you didn't need that to file your aos? thanks!!!

****** Whatever comments i post are based only on what I've done or experienced during this journey. ******

And we should be here to help each other.

Peace out! =)

After you get your shots at St. Lukes, they will give you form DS-3025. When you adjust your status in the U.S., you will include a copy of your DS-3025 in your adjustment of status packet.

If you don't get any shots at St. Lukes, you will need to get your shots in the U.S. Then, you will need a civil surgeon to fill out form I-693 and you will include it in your adjustment of status packet.

Hello,

Since this is a topic regarding the medical examination i wanted to give my input on this -- i just went through my medical exam yesterday and i was able to finish everything in one day. apparently some people just go through the one-day processing. i guess it depends on what your results are and i was lucky enough to be one of them; however, a note of caution, even though you're lucky enough to finish everything in one day it could take up your WHOLE day. i was at St. Luke's at 7am and i was kind of breezing through the whole process, but during the releasing of the passport, my copy of the vaccinations, returning the receipt and getting the copy of the x-ray, that process alone took 4 agonizing hours. Also, i think they take their lunch break [i was hoping they were working on shift schedules] so they ask you to come back at 1PM just to tell you to return to the 2nd floor so you could be vaccinated that same day.

I wouldn't suggest going there extra early because some of the steps that you need to go through open at 8:30am anyway so you'll be waiting like all the rest. 7AM is a reasonable hour, but then again just prepare for the long wait specifically during the Releasing part -- looks like they don't have a process for this meaning it's not a first in, first out for the paperwork. they give out the results on whichever paperwork they get a hold of. so even though you finished everything ahead of the others you might end up leaving later than them which is crazy i think :s

I hope this helps :)

Thanks!

Try Paragon Towers or Hotel Soriente which is just half block away from SLEC. better to stay more closer

than walking few more blocks.
