Well i'm pregnant and i live in the us my bf lives in mexico. Now im pregnant and having my baby in oct. So i want him to be with me in my delivery and stuff. He applied for a tourist visa and was approved he has his plane ticket and everything ready. So what we are worried about is about the port of entry and the inspecting officer. I know that he has to have proof that he will not stay here we are aware and he doesn't plan to cause he's studying the university, he has proof that he goes to school and has a job i would like for him to stay for 4 or 6 months ive heard that you have to proof that you can sustain yourself for that time but the thing is he won't be having any since he's staying at my house. My question is what should he do when at the (poe)? what documentation should he take? What should he say? And is it possible for him to get the visa for 4 or 6 months SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS... :) please be deatiled any answers will help including past experiences or people who have worked there thank you god bless.

he will need to show proof of ties to Mexico.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

4 to 6 month visit does not show that he has a job. Nor does it show that he is currently enrolled in a university. How will he prove a current job or school enrollment?

Coming for the birth of his child and wanting a long stay may be tough. He will have much stronger ties to the US, than home.

Answer the questions honestly and hope for the best. Don't overstay because that may have an impact later when attempting to secure an immigrant visa.

Thanks and that true the officer will think he's coming to stay... :(

he goes to school but since we want to be together he'll miss one semester but he has to be back by january to re enroll and the job he has is with his cousin at his company its a high income job. That's why we are not sure what to do???

that date in the visa is meaningless - one must pay attention to the dates on the I-94, issued at a POE.

The max given is 6 months, but they may give him less.

Can he enroll before he comes over? If he is already enrolled for January and paid the fees for university, that would at least be some ties.
