Is several advantages to a sponsoring US citizen to aid the people brought here to receive their US citizenship. For one, not only frees your spouse and stepkids from the USCIS, but you as well. Another is getting out of that I-864 contract we were forced to sign.

For another, meeting that very special person and wanting to spend the rest of your lives together, one of you have to change countries, left that up to my wife, she wanted to come here. And those that went through that know its a major effort. If she chose her country, I would certainly have a lot to learn, new culture, history, different language, etc.

But since she came here, tried to make the process as easy as possible for her. With the civics test, just copied and pasted it to Word. Instructions clearly stated with multiple answers, only needed to memorize one. Used my own discretion on that and selected the easiest one to remember. Deleted all the other answers, used bold print for the questions, double columns, and printed out just two sheets.

Major study was on that long drive over to our field office, did the same for my stepdaughter, since I already looked over the test, knew all the answers. Test is also individualized by state with the current people in office. Both answered the first six questions correctly, was really the most minimum part of their interview. Most important part is the ability to understand and comprehend the N-400 application and know why you selected the answers you did. That was far more time consuming.

If you don't get that right, no need to even study the civics test, won't even get that far, and explaining your evidence.
