Hello Everyone

we just recently got approved on 8-8-12 at CSC for K1 Visa. i need expertice's advice who has been pass thru this process recently so please advice us and correct us for this process. your advice would be greatly appericiated.

My fiance interview will be held at Mumbai Consulate and i read so many VJ members' topic about Mumbai consulate that they don't send Packet 3 so what you have done to get this packet? my question is once you know that your file is now at Mumbai consulate do you just download the form from Mumbai consulate website and print those out and scan it and mail to VFS or Mumbai Consulate email address???????????????? i looked the instructions for k1 visa which is known as Packet 3 but i m little confused that do i need to send form 230 and DS 156 and DS 156k??????? inshort what did you send in as a packet 3 to consulate? :help:

at this point when i am waiting for my case would be forwarded to NVC i am trying to collect all the forms and evidence which will be needed at the time of interview.

1) do we need to notorize form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)???? what is the good time to fill this out and send back to home? how old does it need to be as we can't predict about interview date. is that okay to be old for 2 or 3 months?

2) i heard some ppl got the statement from bank about what time they open the account and how many amount in their checking and saving so i got that letter today from my bank but i feel is it too early? please advice us.

3) i am also trying to book hall for wedding as a proof that we are going to marry in US so can i get the receipt for that without specific date of marriage as we dont know what time we are going to get visa and can get marry.

for now i think i asked so many questions but the reason is i dnt want to spend any single day to collect the form to delay this process. Both of tired of this waiting :(

Thank you for reading !

#1- notarization not needed. Go ahead and get everything together

#2-Bank account not needed if you are above the poverty guidelines.

#3- do not book anything yet. Why do you need receipt?

I can't answer about Mumbai, but the consulate in Rio, they send a link and we download all forms and take everything to the interview.

according to Mumbai Consulate i read some VJ members topic that some did notorize and some didn't so i wan to make sure about that.

yes i am above poverty line so i guess i dnt need to have that but it is good to just add for safe side.

i heard horrible stories here about Mumbai Consulate that they need to show proof that we are going to get marry so they ask guest list, receipt of booked hall for wedding or reception, invitation card etc ( i dnt know how other petitioners gethered all these info)

Thank you for your effort and advice!

Notarization is only certifying our signature, not the contents thereof. But, if it is a requirement of Mumbai, so be it. Hopefully some regional members will reply.

Good Luck.

DS230 and 156 , U can email to teh VFS email address. If an VFS office is close by u can drop in the documents there for Rs. 350.

IF u are above poverty guidelines and have income well above that , Just have your tax return and that will do .. no bank statements needed.

Dont know about your case , but do u have any red flags ?

Yes prepare yourself very well. Do have all the marriage plans , friends list and all ready

Thanks USIND for your reply!

does form i-134 need to be notorized? DS 230 part one or two? no VFS office is not close to drop off that packet 3 for us so we are thinking to just send it as an email.

yes i make above povertyline but i would keep it with the form just as a extra safe side.

when we submit i-129f we sent our enagagements pics which was held in feb 2012 so i am little scared that if they going to ask us that why you guys didnt get marry in India? show us a proof that you are not married and for that i think i should have to prepare in advance for this wedding plan.

could you please send me message about how did you arrange this wedding plan in advance specially reception hall and caters and other things where we supposed to have fixed marriage date.

i called NVC and they didn't receive my case yet how long does it take to receive?

Thank you for your advice
