My EAD in production was friday, and I still don't have the mailed update.

wednesdays are my lucky days, maybe tomorrow...

EVERYBODY BE SAFE! don't go wander in the roads!

Naw lol he knows nothing about the medical field. He is a land surveyor. I am not sure what she is working on but we'll see soon enough.

Hubby (USC) was a land surveyor for 10 years until the crisis in 2008, and he was laid off. Now he's (sort of) a contractor

I don't know if there is much work as surveyor, hubby says the crisis was anyway at the same time some new tools came in that replaced a lot of field people. one person could do the job of several, so they laid off a lot of people. He says he hates that and would never go back to that! lol!

Eventually, I, in the college teaching jobs, will be job hunting sometime soon (for contract or tenure track positions), and plan is hubby will have to find contractor jobs there. I guess it won't be that hard. But much easier for him to find in place than for me.

So, I have a question...

I just checked the processing times for my office, Chicago (IL) and this is what the website says

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status May 28, 2012

However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., "April 10, 2003") of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.

They way I understand this is that they take way longer than 5 months to process and the last case was MAY 28.

If this is correct, I am happy I got my EAD/AP combo. It may take many many months for my office to process the case

I believe it means they are working on the applications received around that date, so yeah, that is kind of slow.

The information from the website is normally 2-3 months old. I read minutes from a meeting between the ALIA and USCIS, the delay in posting information to the website was something the ALIA were concerned about and USCIS promised to work on it in the future (we shall see, eh?)

I would imagine that in reality they are working on late July/Early August now and that you should here something soon.

11/29/12 - AOS Interview in Atlanta - 10 minutes long and approved on the spot.

Not sure. I understand that it's only a couple of days once the website says it has been picked up by USPS. I am expecting mine tomorrow :)

I only got the notice that my card is in production

Your next step will be that the card is ready to be picked up by USPS and then later the same day (usually) you'll get another update saying it's been picked up by USPS.

That's fairly quick! Hopefully mine will be the same! Sorry about asking so many questions, but did you get any hard copy's of the approval or just the online updates?

There's no hard copy confirmation for the I-765, just online updates - as far as I know.

I'm happy it's quick. I'll head to the SS office the next morning after I get it to apply for my SSN. Once I have my SSN, I'll go to DDS and get my DL :)
