Then vote for Romney, hahahahah

Sorry, it doesn't matter who the President is ... government has always been and will always be expected to be inefficient. Doesn't even matter the country. Government = inefficient.

I would argue that it's the least they could do for the $1490 I've thrown at them. At least they could upgrade the online portal - most people are online these days and I doubt it would take much to make it a little more interactive; the ability to send questions from your account, to find local processing information more easily and to provide a bit more information about how the money is spent - where does my $1490 go?

I watched the debate the other evening and I'm a conservative, but even Romney makes my skin crawl - he's like an oil salesman...

I agree.

Rmoney is so completely in his own little bubble, his own little world, so disconnected from the rest of us who aren't earning $2mill an hour, that I shudder to think of him as President. Just listening to his spiel on women's health and rights?

No.

I said that because one of the topics he talked about during the debate was immigration to the USA and how to make it more efficient, that is all. I thought it was a very appropriated comment due to the situation. My bad

I'm not offended. I just don't think that even if I could vote, that I would vote for a candidate based on nothing else but his view on immigration. I would, however, be very pissy if whatever presidential candidate decided to grant amnesty to illegals. Very. Pissy.

you said "my bad'. I assumed you were apologetic with the last post.

if you were sarcastic even with that, then you weren't even apologetic.

I also understood that your previous Romney comment was sarcastic because we're all here on AOS aka LPR aka NO VOTING RIGHTS.

I just abhor Romney to the extent that I ignored the sarcasm and instead, demonstrated my disdain for him.

I have three main concerns with Romney:

1) I doubt his ability to truly separate church and state. I know religion can be a big deal in the US, but I don't think it has a place in government.

2) Romney has a very capable VP candidate in Paul Ryan, I think too capable. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan runs on his own ticket in 2016. The idea of having him as VP is to get him experience at that level. I can't help feeling that Romney is a stop-gap. Many conservatives don't want Romney, but will vote for him out of respect and consideration to their Republican allegiance.

3) He has very little experience in the public sector. He constantly drones on about his private sector work - great, but the government isn't private sector, at least not last time I checked. Someone with that little public sector experience is going to fall foul of much more experienced hands and their abilities to insert cronies and supporters into key jobs.

Who's still waiting for an interview date in our little group? Today marks 30 days exactly since my biometrics. Every time I try to call up and speak to USCIS they refuse to escalate to Tier 2 as they believe me to be 'a little demanding' and that I should wait until 4 months from my filing date to call in.

My concern is that they've maybe sent something, but not updated their system (I'm not sure what Tier 1 can see, but I believe it's the same system we register and use to keep us updated) and it's gotten lost. Should I be trying harder to get an escalation, or should I just try and be patient?

Really pleased to read everyone having their interviews. Congrats to all :)

I'm still waiting,in fact my Biometrics were taken in Atlanta Sept 12...nothing has happened since then... this waiting thing is going to give me gray hair!! lol Glad to know is not just me.

Anyone else in Atlanta? could be this office..

Hey Moki,

I have a feeling it's the office. When you went for your biometrics in Atlanta, was it busy? It was super busy the day I went with lots of people doing their biometrics for the Deferred Action program.

I had my biometrics a week after you. I feel a little bad for worrying now...

Yeah it totally depends on local USCIS office how fast GC would be processed as in my case I was only one there for biometric and even on interview day we were only couple there.

If that is the case, I better sit down tight.

I have the Chicago Office. It was busy the day I went for the Infopass with people coming in and out every 15 minutes. At least 20 people waiting for the Infopass. No idea how many for interviews.

The service center where I had my Biometrics was busy too. I'd say at least 8 people in front of me. It was fast tho
