As my date is getting closer i am getting more and more nervous. I worked for a couple months but did not disclose it on my G325A so i am very worried about that. I sent them an updated G325A but never got any response that my file was updated so idk what questions are going to pop up on thursday

Gesi has 3 kids from previous marriage, they live in Haiti with their mother and I have 2 sons with my ex, one is 19, my youngest is 12. I gave my oldest his BC when he graduated and joined the Navy. I have my 12 yr old but he stayed in Texas with his dad and friends. I guess I could take copies of all of their BC's with us even though none of the children live with us and we do not have any together nor planning to. I am not sure they need them but we will take them just in case.

And no EAD in the mail today, hopefully it will come tomorrow or Friday and we can run by the SS Office on Monday on our way to Baltimore to at least have something showing he's applied for the SSN.

We really do not have anything extra to submit that was not included in our original application. My best friend we rent from, well.. I love her to death, she is like a sister to me but she's very annoying, esp when it comes to Gesi. She is one of those "know it alls", she is always correcting him on things, her dogs bark and him constantly when he talks (I think its the accent). Honestly, I think she is a little jealous. She has tried to tell me over and over what to do in the immigration process because "a friend has done this before" - but I followed the rules I read on the site and guidance through this site and so far I am okay. She can do a lease, she said she would but she has yet to do it knowing our interview is coming up. Also, his aunt took a trip to Haiti and we had her get his ORIGINAL birth certificate. She mailed it to him when she got back to the states, we waited and waited and nothing ever came so he called her, she provided a tracking number, we checked online, shows they tried to deliver it TWICE and left notices on the front door. We use a back entrance to get into our living quarters, never the front door. But when I asked her she said nothing's been there. SHE gets the mail most of the time (she has a serious twirk about us getting it... well him getting it) so I started getting up and getting the mail as soon as I hear the mail truck. Anyway, we went to the post office with the tracking number and got the original birth certificate (thank goodness) - he swears she got it and never gave it to us. I never in a million years would think she would do anything like that but really, TWO notices and neither made their way to us??

So I haven't asked anything more about the lease or affidavit from her. I brought it up twice before, she said she would and here we are 5 days from the interview and nothing. We just want the EAD so he can start working and we can make our next move (leaving here). It's gonna be Texas or Florida, we just do not know which yet!

Am I being weird about her or do you think maybe she really could be trying to jeopardize our process??

It is difficult when you feel like someone is doing you a favor, but her dragging her heels isn't really doing you a favor. The lease should be as much for her as it should for you, even if you're all friends. I would mention it tonight, or as soon as possible - the sooner it's done, the sooner you can all relax and look forward to the interview.

our 6 months (married) anniversary is saturday! we want to go to the restaurant we went in our first date and for our marriage dinner

Yes we do. 17 month old twin girls, born in Argentina, we made them US citizens when they were born. We were living outside USA for 2 years

hopefully it's a misunderstanding or bad coincidence. it would be really bad if it was on purpose. And, even if it's a favor, it doesn't have to be a legal lease. Just an written agreement. Make her do it before interview.

Thank you! I grabbed the babies and walked to the UPS Store. You have no idea how relieve I felt when I dropped the package.

Now I just hope it gets there tomorrow like they promised (for $24 it better)

I don't remember in what forms it is explained, probably i-485, but I remembered it is on wikipedia (below): conditional is for recent marriages. after 2 years you file ROC. But even if that is the rule, it's under the IO consideration, and he can decide not to. so unless they have a rule against granting it if you were living abroad, with the twins as a proof of real marriage, you should get permanent.

As part of immigration reform under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA), as well as further reform enacted in the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRAIRA), persons who are eligible and properly apply for permanent residence based on either a recent marriage to a U.S. citizen or as an investor are granted permanent residence only on a conditional basis, for two years. An exception to this rule is the case of a U.S. citizen legally sponsoring a spouse in which the marriage at the time of the adjustment of status (I-485) is more than two years old. In this case, the conditional status is waived and a 10-year Permanent Resident Card is issued upon USCIS approval of the case. A permanent resident under the conditional clause may receive an I-551 stamp as well as a Permanent Resident Card. The expiration date of the conditional period is two years from the approval date. The immigrant visa category is CR (conditional resident).
