Checked the mail today and I got a notice for my INTERVIEW...so happy right now. I was not expecting it at all because I never received a text or email notification and my online case status still says acceptance. Oh well it doesn't matter now because I have my interview for November 1st. Hoping now that the EAD will come soon. Hoping everyone gets interview appointment soon!

Congrats

Yep, is the interview in the same place they take the fingerprints, the ASC place? or somewhere different? I have read all the reviews from Atlanta and they seem friendly and professional, so that reassures me a little :)

It is a different location in Atlanta than where we had our fingerprints done. I need to look through some of the Atlanta interview experiences still but glad to hear that they seemed positive :)

That's good to know. I was hoping it would be the same place as it was in an easy-to-access location. Definitely check out the reviews, not much to worry about though...

Now that I'm home, I can explain better...

Went there half an hour before the appointment, security people was very nice and helpful (we had the twins, double stroller, etc etc etc). We went to the window and the lady said "we have nothing to do with the service centers, we can't help you". I explained it was about general information and she said they could not help me but let me talk to an ISO.

We waited out turn and went to talk...they asked for my RFE and my ID. He literally read the letter and asked what was the problem. I explain my situation and said that if I want to add my assets is fine, but most likely, we need a joint sponsor.

I asked about the EAD and he offered to look in the computer but said that it takes 90 days give it or take. He asked about my biometrics and when I told him that I had it done already, he said that after (in my case) they receive the RFE response is going to take a little less than 90 days.

Bottom line, they are helpful, not very knowledgeable about the whole immigration process

he did told me tho that, in case of adding the assets, lets say a house, it doesn't have to be converted in cash after 1 year. Just to show proof of having the assets and that is all

(if you search the forum, it says that if you want to put assets, they need to be easily converted to cash after one year and bring that cash into the country)

Yes, they are like the information call center, they just read their answers from a cheat sheet but can't evaluate any case or compromise saying any extra information.

It's easier with joint sponsor than assets, because even if, yes they don't have to be converted into cash, but it has to be a secondary property, so in case of economic need, you could sell that and still have the main asset to use. let's say a house, asset has to be house #2, and still have main residency where to live.

I guess maybe assets are useful when you just need to compensate a small amount to get to the required income, and if you own a summer cottage, a condo that you rent, ... or even cars are easier, people has easily 2 cars. If you really need $, sell the second, and still have one.

welcome new filers!

MY LETTER SHOULD BE HERE THIS WEEK!! GETTING IMPATIENT!! it usually comes on days 36-45. I'm on day 42!! ARRGH!!

All the people that completed bio around sept 7, we have nothing yet! Renzo1989, is also that bio day & in his day 50! GET BACK TO WORK USCIS!!

90 days rule for EAD is sooo stupid! why would you want it at the same time that GC!! :bonk:
