I just got a text that my EAD is in production. I got a job offer and called my congress man if he can help me expedite the process. She asked me to forward her my receipts and offer letter which I did. I also explained to her on phone that my wife doesnt make enough money and that I needed the job so bad. I told her to help me convince USCIS to approve my case on Humanitarian grounds because I may loose the job if I don't resume between October 1- 5.

I hope this little piece of information would help people trying to expedite too. I am so excited.

Could you give us a little more details, please? What day in your timeline did you contacted congressman office and how long after did you get the EAD production email?

did you send congressman any extra paper proving your wife doesn't make enough? like her taxes or anything or just your job offer with the october 5th deadline?

was all the contact and explanation on the phone? do you guys have children or dependents? (just guessing they might be more sensible when there is children, which is not my case)

I attached an expedite letter to my EAD application. No news till now. My F1(OPT) EAD expired last week. My calculations are that I should get the EAD in about a month. So if my job notices before that month that mine expired and sends me a letter, I will use that letter to re-ask expedite through ombudsman or congressman. Now just waiting on regular timeline, my interview letter should come any minute now.

I contacted the Congressman on Monday - 09/24/2012, She told me to send her scanned copies of all my receipts, I-130, I-485 etc, biometrics receipt and job letter. I did all that same day but she didn't get it to USCIS until the following day 09/25/2012.

All explanation was done on phone...All I told her was that my wife income is not even enough for herself alone talkess of me and that we need the job so bad. My job is with an oil company and I told her I was lucky to get the job, and that if my EAD is not expedite that I would loose the job and may never come across that golden opportunity again....she pitied me and promised to try all her best to convince USCIS and let them see why they have to expedite on humanitarian grounds.

I didn't submit any documents to show my wife's income or whatsoever. All I submited was all my receipts like I said earlier, job offer letter and release form which the congress man asked me to fill and email to her.

I would advise you to contact your congress man if your case is similar to mine. Best of luck.

I'm from Dominica so when I came in March. I was anxious to see it. But a few weeks after I got there we had a horrible snow storm(I'm in NYC), I was so over it by the 2nd day. It's cool the first few times you see it but It's really nothing to be thrilled about unless you're a kid or don't have to drive or go wait for the bus.
