Thankfully, I think it means by being sent to Missouri, we avoid delays at California and Vermont!

When I looked at the various service centers on the USCIS, it didn't list Missouri as one, it list Vermont, California, Nebraska and Texas and then the National Service Center (is that in Missouri??) BUT, I did see a Missouri Service Center listed on Visa pro.com??? Is it a new service center?? I was under the impression with me being in Maryland, mine would be processed in Vermont...maybe it will will, just hasn't been transferred yet (which would most likely add more time for the transfer process)

From what I understand, Missouri isn't normally a service center. I do believe because of the increased load to California and Vermont, they have activated Missouri to help with the load. I read somewhere else that they did that with another office a few years back too!

I don't think geography plays much of a part in the process with regards to the processing by Service Centers. Only when the information gets forwarded to your local field office for interview. I have read that people in Vermont had their files sent to California and vice versa.

It might be something to note in our group of filers; how many of us have MSC numbers and how many have a VSC or CSC?

I have MSC.

Is that the "norm"?

When/where is it decided? The lockbox?

I just read that the NBC (National Benefits Center) does the initial processing for EAD and AP and 485 but then transfers the case to CA or VT for interview processing? But maybe since our case numbers are MSC it still still be processed through Missouri since it seems Vermont is extremely slow right now... but who knows. I am just waiting it out. I can't do anything to make it go any faster. I do enjoy talking to you all though, it seems to make it a little less stressful knowing others are at the same point in the process as I am! :)
