I was told to make an infopass appointment by a level 2 from the USCIS hotline re: the possibility of getting an interview date as my case was ready for interview and I am very pregnant and obviously don't want to miss my appointment due to labor etc. The USCIS agent said he put in an expedite request and then we would receive a letter within 5 days telling us how to proceed.

We never got a letter so I called USCIS again and was told a letter was mailed to us on the 14th stating we should make an infopass appointment at our local office to follow up on the request.

On the 19th as we still hadn't received said letter we made the infopass appointment anyway as the level 2 USCIS agent said they told us what we need to do/ what was in the letter.

We made the appointment, went (8am which was the only appointment lot available for Friday). The lady who spoke to us took our appointment sheet, did not look up our case, asked us why we were there and said "I don't know when you will have an interview, I can't tell you anything about how long processing times are, I cannot help you get an interview, I cannot look up your case regarding this expedite request, the uscis sites processing times are incorrect, there are no interviews being held at the moment nor have they been for about a week as people are on vacation, you can send a letter re: your pregnancy / labor and delivery and we may reschedule your interview for a later date after your receive the initial interview letter, you will be rescheduled if we reschedule you within 60 days.

Needless to say I am quite frustrated, especially as we see everyone else being approved and our case hasn't even been "touched" and when we tried to get some assistance we ended up just wasting hours of our time.

/end rant

It sounds like you are present caught in a loop. In short, nothing is happening, everyone is on vacation. Until things get moving again, you are caught. I suspect whoever was to make sure that letter got out to you is on vacation, hence the holdup, not to mention others connected to make sure things happen for you. Christmas/New Years is party time it seems. You definitely have special needs and hopefully when everything gets rolling again, you will be put on top of the list. I notice that those of us with similar dates and if we never were lucky enough to get processed, are at a stand still. I understand your frustration as it is mine as well but after reading about your situation, would gladly give up my place in line so that you can go ahead. Hopefully, this will happen as soon as possible for you.

Looked at another way, if everything is stopped for the season and little is happening, no amount of anxiety on our parts is going to make any difference other than to upset us and us alone. At least we have a forum like this to share our mutual experiences.

You're so sweet! You're right we shouldn't worry right now, getting upset won't affect the process. I am sure my husband said something similar when I was sitting in the car very upset today, but you know, I didn't want to listen to him right then!

I understand it is not their fault I got pregnant and everyone deserves vacation and to enjoy Christmas etc. I just want someone to say "Ok we will give you an interview in May/June/ X Month" , I don't need to go ahead of others, I'm not asking for that. I am with my husband and I don't need my GC for anything right now. I just want to know possibly when/ around when I may have an interview and plan around it and not be caught having an interview when I can't attend AND to be told they have no idea at my local office but that they DO know that the website is incorrect... Frustrating! Similarly, the lady who spoke to us at our info-pass appointment made it sound like if I could not attend my interview (like if I was in hospital or something) they MAY or MAY NOT give me another one... :(

Thanks for your kind words Elbear, I hope we both hear something very soon! Make sure you keep us updated with your case :)

You may or may not to reschedule depending upon your delivery date/Interview date collision. You can reschedule a week before or something like that, if needed.

Why to worry now.

Just enjoy the time and plan to welcome your baby !!!

I would be prefer attending interview with baby so that they don't ask you many questions. You'll be done in 10 minutes

I would not prefer to attend the interview with a newborn where she will be exposed to numerous bacteria and germs especially if she is less than 6 weeks and has had no vaccinations.

Not only the bug issue Xanax mentioned but a baby is only proof she had sex. It doesn't prove relationship. It doesn't hurt, but neither does it "seal the deal" and rightly so. You wouldn't want people who are committing fraud getting pregnant just because they think it'll help them get approved (and it's happened before).

You may be right. But just because somebody did fraud earlier, we should not avoid taking our strong evidences to the most important part of the process.

For that matter, everything they suspect is fraud. You're the one who needs to prove yourself.

Its all relative.

You should carry birth certificate of the kid.
