Hello !

First of all, sorry for my bad english.

I'm in the US since 2 months with a K1 Visa. I married my fiancé the day just after I get here. I did all the paperwork for the green card and I was called for my biometrics application.

Right now i'm still waiting for my green card : I heard it will take sometimes.

My Visa is gonna expires in the end of August. So, I have just a question : do I have to do something else to prove that i waiting for my green card ? I'm asking that because I received papers for the immigration center saying that they received my application but that the papers they send me don't give me any immigration statut.

I read a lot of things on the internet and all they say is that I just have to wait for my green card. But if someone ask me for my passport, how can I prove him that I am waiting for it ? Do I have to have the papers the immigration center send me everytime on me ?

Sorry for all the questions. I really want to do everything right.

Your legal status is pending Adjustment of Status should anyone ask, though I don't see why they would. Don't worry about that visa. You're fine. I don't know why someone would ask you for your passport, but again just mention you have applied for AOS if they do. You also are not allowed to leave the country unless you have advanced parole or approval.

So sit back, relax for a bit (and come here if you have questions). Best of luck on your journey!

did you walk in to the local SSA office and apply for SSN? DO that, this week.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
