Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am applying for a CR-1 Visa for my wife in Colombia. We are trying to get her vaccinations records but the hospital on San Andres Island is on Strike and will not release the records. Will the doctor work with us or are we screwed until the strike is resolved?

Thank you so much.

even with the records from the hospital, the doctors would likely make her get them all over again

Even if she had received certain vaccinations as a child and has records to prove it?

Does she currently have the records, or are they currently unavailable from the labor-stricken hospital ?

She has up to date medical records (She has all medical records for the last 7 years) but her vaccinations, immunizations and medical history up to age 18 are at the hospital on San Andres Island. They have been on strike for several months.

In lieu of the missing medical records, a civil surgeon could obtain serological antibody titer tests to determine whether the beneficiary has adequate circulating antibodies against the diseases mentioned on the medical form, and then vaccinate as necessary.

That is in essence what we are going to have to do with my wife from northern China, she has very limited vaccination records. So for the AOS process, we have appointments on Monday with a civil surgeon here in Seattle for the wife and stepson, and git 'er done in that manner. Likely not the cheapest, will require another appointment to follow-up on the blood test results. However, in reality, it is best for their health and well-being.

YMMV

Good luck on your visa journey.

Dr. Roa, who is one of the two panel physicians for all of Colombia, is in the business of selling shots. He will make you get them all over again, even if you got them all from him a year ago

The packet I received has Four physicians listed. And what if I wanted to see Dra. Monica Caicedo? The female doctor to care for my wife. And isn't getting repeated vaccinations dangerous?

Thank you very much. This was extremely helpful. I called my wife and she stated that it is possible that the strike will be resolved next week. I will keep my fingers crossed and thank you again for you advice and kind words.

is more dangerous to Dr. Roa's wallet if he can't sell you shots again. he cares nothing about the patient

I am guessing you have some personal experience with that doctor? I appreciate the heads up. I will avoid him like the plague if am able too. I did figure that some of them would be cold and careless.

I'm glad to see there are now four doctors instead of two. is only a matter of time until they all realize that DoS has given them carte blanche to sell vaccinations to everyone, regardless of whether they really need them or not

It sounds like your experience was pretty awful. I hope that everything worked out for you. I had read that President Santos had disbanded the DOS. Hopefully that has made things better and easier. But I digress, I will stay away from Doctor Roa. If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost to get all of those vaccinations? It must cost a fortune.

I mean US Department of State, not DAS

That was my bad lol. I just got done a 14 hour shift and words and letters are starting to blend together. I sure hope that have fixed things instead of giving a monopoly to doctors who truly don't care.

Good Luck

Thank you very much :)
