Vermont Behind Schedule on K1

Even though some people who have February NOA1 dates have gotten approval, VSC is still behind schedule. I spoke to someone on Friday, 10 Aug and they told me they were on January 16th. It is hard to speak to a live person. The trick is to push the option that says "are you experiencing technical problems with system". That will get you a live person. Then say they that you did not hear the option you were looking for. Their priority seems to me (1) military (2) people who have never filed K1 before and all documents are correct (3) all others. I fall in the all others category because I filed K1, 4 years ago and then the lying girl informed me the night before her medical exam that she was pregnant with another man's child. Some of them you just can't trust no matter how much they say they love you.

They've been sayin jan 16th forever. The people on the other line are just monkeys giving generic information, with nothing to offer but to waste your time and theirs

Last year it was the WAC that was behind the EAC in processing K-1 petitions. So now, the situation has reversed....it will likely change again. Personally, I was inclined to worry too much last year when my petition was sent to the WAC...that is the way it goes. The end result is what counts, the rest is just details.....

YMMV

Good luck on your visa journey.

The good news is that they are seven months behind. They will be hard pressed now to continue being slow and still make the five month average. This means it's most likely time for them to shift their attention to K1's.

There's no guarantee that this will happen, but we can hope, I guess.

I heard the backlog is due to VSC working on "protected status" of Syrian nationals here in the US...I don't how true that is, but Secretary of DHS Janet Napalitano did make a statement that the "protected Status" issue was going to be a first priority for the DHS..figures our own government would put us second to another country..and it just so happens that Vermont is the only center that is working on that issue...I know my fiancee and I have only been waiting 3 months now..but CSC has been approving May petitions already..and our NOA1 was May 15th...It sort of agitates me a little..but I'm sure that Vermont will start flowing better soon..I pray so at least. :)

No there is no such priority,, all k1 cases are same.. my fiance is in army,, we dont see any priorities. When he called uscis last week he received the same message that they were on January 16th.

I dont mean this to be rude but when people say wac was slow last year... Is that suppose to make is feel better? That comment has just been annoying the life out of me as I dont know if the commenter is trying to be comforting or state something that has nothing to do with now.

Think he's just saying there's swings and roundabouts, one of them has to be faster than other. And I don't know how it works but they might be approving different kinds of petitions at EAC - i129f is one of many! I personally am a bit peeved that we filed in June and now our expected approval date is next month. It limits our prep time down and I will most likely have to resign from my job earlier than I wanted which SUCKS! if I gotta spend a life time with this man I sure as hell wouldn't mind some breathing space before hand!!
