Hiya, finally got an interview date for September 10th. However I'm a bit worried about the evidence we have.

-Certified marriage certificate

-Wedding invitation cards

-Joint bank account with wife (USC)

-Living under wife's mother's roof (wife's a full time college student, her parents are co-sponsoring us and have agreed to write a note stating how we are living under their roof)

-She has changed her last name on her social security and CA Driver's license to mine

-Pictures from the wedding, before the wedding and during the honeymoon.

I mean, that is just about ALL the evidence we have. Is it enough? I am a bit worried as she doesn't own a credit card or a house lease so she cannot sign me up on those, or even bills that come to her name as she's mostly dependent on her parents (who have been absolutely helpful throughout this process). I wanted to know if we need anything else, or if we are going to be subjected to more scrutiny due to the amount of joint evidence most people have?

Thanks for your time.

They should understand that you are newlyweds and won't have a lot of evidence yet. I think what you have and are planning to take sounds pretty good. Do you have a license or state ID? It can help to show both your IDs with the same address on them. That is one thing I could think of for you to add to your list.

Thank you very kindly for your response, Jay-Kay. :)

I applied for EAD but it is still pending. I do have my social security card which shows the same address as my wife's. Also the biometrics appointment letter and the interview letter that shows the same address. Would that help?

I was also wondering if we have to bring copies of I864/I485 with evidence for the interview? They made no mention of it, but people here seem to do so.

What about letters addressed to both of you, or bills addressed to one or both of you such as a cell phone bill or car payments? Are you listed as her spouse on any of her college papers, such as emergency next-of-kin etc?

Thank you for your response, Lady Penguin.

I am listed as her spouse on her financial aid info as they usually demand to know that of independent students. She doesn't own a vehicle, and we use the automobiles her parents have.

Is there a lack of evidence in this context, or am I worrying for naught?

I think it looks fine. Social Security cards do not have addresses on them. It does say to bring the I-864/I-485. On your appointment letter it says to bring originals of everything you sent in.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

NigeriaorBust,

Yeah we went for our honeymoon, so I'm thinking hotel receipts from there would be useful, thanks for bringing that to our attention.

Harpa Timsah,

Thanks! That puts me mind to some ease. I'll bring the originals. Much obliged!
