For those who went through the K-1 Visa process in Ghana, what are your opinions of submitting Moneygram/Western Union money transfer receipts from fiance as part of the evidence of ongoing relationship at the K-1 visa interview? Did anyone submit one and if so, did it help or hurt your case? I am talking specifically about Ghana and K-1 petition. Thanks

If you are talking specifically about Ghana, consider posting in the appropriate regional forum. Submitting those types of receipts could be a two-edged sword, they could also be interpreted as supporting your wife and not your fiancee, and could result in increased scrutiny or even a K-1 visa denial. Refer to the excellent step-by-step K-1 visa Guides for good examples of ongoing relationship evidence.

Good luck on your visa journey.

We didnt submit them, with other strong evidence it is safer to not submit anything that may be questionable.

Don't stress too much- focus on the things they want- email, phone, passport stamps, photos, family meeting.

Money changing hands can come up as a negative. It can be seens the non USC paying for a green card or the USC paying for a spouse beyond what they could get in the US depending on which way the money goes. We did show money but it was part of the contribution to my father in laws funeral and by custom everyone in the family gives money for that and a smaller amount for his birthday. There were no monthly amounts.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Expidites follow the same rules at all stages. Impending military deployment, USCIS error ( not usually usefull at the embassy ) and extreme hardship
