Hi everyone. As you can see from my timeline I'm waiting for a RFE response and still haven't goten my NOA2. However, to make the process as fast as possible (and obviously to manage my anxiety) I'd like to start gathering everything I need after the NOA2.

I was wondering how long the copies of my birth certificate and police records are valid for. Could I get them now?

Also, can my fiancé start gathering affidavit of support evidence, and then just date the form when we actually have to send it?

Thank you!

Yes, you can obtain your birth certificate now as that doesn't expire. As for the police certificate, that has a validity period depending on the country, In some it is valid for 3 months while some 6 months, I'm not sure about Argentina. I think you should wait till your NOA2 is ready unless it is difficult and take a long time to obtain in Argentina whereby before you finally have it in your hand it is like a month or so (talking about the police certificate/record). I think it's also wise for your fiance to wait for the NOA2 alert first before gathering what he has to send to you because the petition still has to pass through NVC and that time should be enough to gather whatever document that is needed. Before then, get yourself and your fiance acquainted with what is needed for the interview stage if you haven't done so. Good luck.
