seriously?

If the US is treating the chinese spouses of US citizens' with respects, do I even need to prepare a whole box of evidence to prove the marrital relationship?

Still, how is providing evidence of bona fide relationship disrespectful, when one is asking for the privilege to immigrate based on such relationship?

this is rather a useful tool for revealing social networks - for purpose of figuring out troublemakers and national security.

however i do agree that this policy is just idiotic as american immigration. looks like china no longer wants to be a communist country but follow the foot steps of capitalist america.

What Gegel said.

I'm getting the impression from you that you think this only happens to the Chinese spouses. Pretty sure this is what anybody who wants to immigrate to the US as a spouse has to do. I'm not from China and I have to do this.

Well, I am not here to argue anything. But just look at it this way, if a US citizen wants to travel to France for example, as a tourist, I do not need any invitation from a frenchmen. But, travel to China, well, you need one. And, how about Monaco?

Bottom line, if you happy with what it is, good for you.

you are talking to someone whose citizenship requires visas to almost every country that isn't the EU, and even that is rumored to be changing. I have no sympathy lol.

Asking for proof of a round trip ticket is un-reasonable for a tourist visa?

I applied for a single entry 30 day visa from http://www.chinavisanewyork.com/ last week and in 6 days received a year long multiple entry @90/visit visa.

I emailed and Thanked the Visa people and asked them about the one I recieved. They said they review each applicant and because I warrented a better visa they applied for the multiple entry for me. They did this on my behalf without me asking. I highly recommend this place.

I am not in any way affiliated with these people, just a guy like you trying to get my fiance here. I was very pleased to recieve the multiple entry. They are also easy to talk to via phone with questions.

Best wishes

I am glad you like what they doing to you, like I said, if you like it, good for you.

clearly if you're so against these procedures, you don't see how they make sense. Every country doesn't like people who enter the country on a non-immigrant visa and end up immigrating. So how do they prevent this? By asking you to prove that your stay is only temporary. How do you prove this? By showing them a round trip ticket.

sorry, you're not entitled to stuff you were never entitled to in the first place. unfortunately, this is the way things are so being unhappy about it just means you'll be unhappy about it for the rest of your life - which I find to be a waste of time. it only takes one person to screw it up for the rest of us. we, and by we I mean you, just have to get over it.

Why the passive aggressiveness?

China, like many countries in this world, is seeking steps to help plug some holes in their illegal immigration problem. Asking for a return ticket copy, an invitation, or some other simple requirement helps them in this problem. Before this, anyone could essentially stay as long as they want on a standard 30 day tourism visa. China has no shortage of problems, big and small with illegal workers in China: Sex workers from Africa, Russia, Philippines, etc, foreign language teachers from Europe and North America. If it does anything to curb these people who abuse the travel visa, then its a reasonable requirement.
