Hello all my fellow VJ'ers!

My husband, who is the UK citizen has recently gotten his Wisconsin driver's license. Now he's wondering what he should do with his old, UK driver's license... does he need to write to or call to change his address on his old UK license with the UK DOT to his new American address? Just leave it alone and it expires? Just seeing what others have done with theirs

I changed my address to my sister's address , this is because when it expires they will send out a letter for you to renew it , this letter will go out to the address on the license. I did the change of address online and got the license sent within a few days. Also I may need my license in the future .

Keep it,

When he gets stopped for speeding in Wisconsin, Show the local P.D his UK licence.

They will be so amazed and confused at a U.K licence, they will give him a warning rather than fill out complicated paperwork.

When he visist back home and the same thing happens, show the local police the Wisconsin Licence, the same will apply :yes:

I asked the UK DVLA this question and they said I should just let it expire because I no longer live in the UK and they will not accept a foreign address.

Lucky you. It didn't bother the Texas Highway Patrol a bit to issue a ticket on a UK license. :(

It makes a good photo ID when someone wants a 2nd piece of ID for any reason.

K-1 Journey

03-03-2011 - Mailed I-129F application.

03-06-2011 - Packet received in Texas.

03-23-2011 - NOA1 received in mail, dated 03-09-2011.

05-31-2011 - RFE requested. They want better passport pictures of me.

06-06-2011 - Additional passport pics sent.

06-08-2011 - Evidence received and acknowledged. Whew!

06-16-2011 - NOA2 received!

07-20-2011 - Packet 3 Received!

08-01-2011 - Packet 3 returned to Embassy.

08-22-2011 - Packet 4 Received!

I like the confusing the police offer thing, doubt it would work in California but possibly Utah.

April 30th 2011 Met in Las Vegas, NV at Paris Resort and Casino

June 4th 2012 Mailed I-129F from Salt Lake City, UT to Dallas, TX

June 6th 2012 Received in Dallas

June 11th 2012 Text/E-mail of NOA1

June 14th 2012 Received hardcopy of NOA1

August 16th 2012 Received text/e-mail of NOA2

August 27th 2012 NVC received petition

Sep 3rd 2012 Received Packet 3 from London Embassy
