What do you want to know? How to write your care plans?

First step would be how to draw blood and not torture the patients

Isn't that the truth. Many of us had the painful experience of either us or someone we know being poked by new nurses as they were trying to find a vein :crying:

I was a CERN (certified emergency nurse) for 15 years. I got tired of the ER, went back and got my phD in biology. Been doing research ever since. My nursing experience has helped me in ways I can't describe with my research because I understand physiology so well. Currently I am working on developing a neutraceutical that will stop the metastasis of non small lung cancer cells. We are about to go into a human clinical study.

Nursing school was one of the hardest things I have ever accomplished. The instructors tolerate nothing but the best. After all, you are going to be giving drugs that can potentially kill someone. There are no excuses in nursing school. You have to be extremely dedicated and study hard. You have to know what you know and prove you know it.

Just dive in, understand you are going to give up a social life as you knew it before. You are going to curse, scream, and cry. But, it is all worth it once you complete your training successfully.

You are getting good advice from others if they are scaring the hell out of you. You should be scared. Scared enough to totally respect the profession and hold yourself to higher standards that you have never held yourself before.

With all that being said, you will find out more about yourself than you ever had before. It is extremely gratifying to know that you accomplished something so demanding.

Good luck and message me if you ever want to discuss nursing.

John

"nursing school" comes in many different forms and in varying degrees of difficulty. the most difficult and competitive are those programs in community colleges that place by GPA on basis of completion of pre-requisite classes in gen ed and A&P / Microbio. clinical rotations in such schools flush 20-30% of the class each semester.

you must have a good memory, good study skills. good pencil and paper mathematics, and a good vocabulary.
