i hope when my fiance did his medical he passed it without ALL this kind of problem.

usually people got TB from where they leave, environment or work such as health care workers i guess...(hhhmm not sure about my statement..lol)

i heard TB It is spread usually from person to person by breathing infected air during close contact...geesssshhh i guess be aware who you guys talked to in St.Lukes while doing your medical.

goodluck everyone!!!

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

That really sucks, sorry to hear that. I was worried about something like that happening in this whole process. Hang in there, it will all work out in the end... Enjoy the time in the Phils with your fiancee, January is the best month to be there in my opinion..

Juliet tested positive for TB..they did say that she could recieve treatment at home..not sure of the details yet on that. Has anyone ever done the I-601 Medical Waiver? It does allow treatment to be done here in the states...even TB. You must get a doctor here to sign off that they will start treatment after 30 days of arrival...sorry bout the bad news Rich

Sorry to hear about the positive diagnosis. I hope you keep us posted on the details of her receiving treatment at home instead of at St. Lukes. I would like to know more about it.

As for the waiver, you might want to check to see how long it takes the USCIS to make a decision on that type of request. It may be faster for her to complete the treatment in the Philippines rather than wait for the USCIS to make a decision.

Thanks Tahoma...it seem she dont qualify for the waiver. You have to have had interview first..makes sense..the treatment at home is a huge delay..like starting over..looks like slec is the only option..Rich?..have you found somewhere for your wife to stay?..splitting cost and have some company sounds like a good idea..slec=6 months..home treatment = 18 months..still 6 months treatment but huge delay on getting a interview

Chera has a Condo close to Saint Lukes....so it easier for her to go for the treatment everyday...The treatment is easy and only takes a few minutes...She has to go to Saint Lukes everyday and take tablets in front of the nurse then you can leave, then once a month they do another Sputum and check for active TB. Xrays are every 3 months....Weekends and Holidays they send the tablets home with you...There are some side effects, Dizzy and tired but in the end it will be all worth it. Its kinda hard because she feels fine and has no effects from the TB so its like why take these stupid tablets. I am glad that she is being treated just don't like the delay. All her tests are showing negative only the culture is positive so I think she should be good to go in March. I am traveling back there for a couple weeks the first week of October and I will try and go in February for Valentines day...By then it should be almost time for her interview again...and time for her to come to the USA.:) :)

Hello there. I just want to know what are the possibilities will happen. I got a call from SLEC after 3-4 weeks i think after my negative sputum smear. They said something grew in my sputum but she said it was not a TB and they will check what is it. So she then told me to go back at St. Lukes on October 25 instead of October 15 which is the original date. So totally, it somewhat 2months and 10 days waiting. Do you have any experience like this guys? Any thoughts? Thank you so much. Im just so depressed after all.
