my wife wants to change her name on the forms she filed

On all the forms for aos,, she put her single name. But she wants to have all her future id in her married name. We spoke in person to a immigration officer at uscis in NYC, and he said make a copy of the reciepts we got in the mail along with a letter stating the name change. Also he said we have to re file a new i765. What do we have to send along in that new file? Copy of birth?

It doesn't matter what her marriage cert says. She could have applied in her married name. Now, if she can get them to change her application, she can change it to married name, but actually doing that might be tough. At your interview, you can request to have the name changed, but I am not sure if you can get it changed before that. You can write the letters and see if it works.

Well, actions have consequences. You filled out the forms in maiden name, so this is the effect of the action you made. You can try to get it changed with letters. Good luck.
