I am a permanent resident and my hubby is the US citizen and we are expecting our second child in September. Since I am currently in graduate school we want my mom to come over on a visiting visa so she can help with the baby while i go for classes. She went for her interview yesterday 08/09/2012 and she was placed on administrative processing.I really don't know what the next step should be.Do we contact our congressman or just wait it out.Because I don't know why a 65year old woman will be placed on AP.

I am sort of surprised they even considered a B2.

AP takes as long as it takes, she can only wait.

AP will take as long as they want it tot take. They will be doing their investigation and if all is well they will make a decision. You contacting your congressman/woman will not force them to give her the visa. If anything, since you are dealing with Nigeria, they might deny her based on being forced to make a hasty decision.

Give yourself time and and let them do whatever the heck it is that they need to do.:wacko: Meanwhile, take care of yourself and your family until your mother-in-law arrives. Best of luck to you.
