Slow is not even the word!!! Hopefully they start to pick up by mid August/ September. This is ridiculous you have still Jan/Feb filer out there, still waiting, who are pass there processing time and they get no answer from CIS and they keep asking to check back with 10 or 15 days.... I mean come on.... Each rep. tell you something different I mean honestly can we even relied on the info. that is being provided to us? I understood they have a high volume of petition and people send in info. not addressing it appropriately make it harder but I guess his is the price we have to pay to have our loved once here... Our lives are in there hands and timing.... Is a matter of waiting, and patience.... Easier said then done but at the end of the day it's not in our control... :crying: One day all this will be all over!!

This is beyond frustrating, and I really feel for the Feb and Apr filers, since it can all turn around within the next two months, but that would not help them since they are already beyond or looking to be beyond the 5 month mark.

It's tue, it is out of our hands, nothing to do but vent some frustration from time to time.

Thanks for the responses.

I filed an I-130 for my husband at VSC. My NOA-1 is March 07. I was told that I am still in the normal processing time because they are working on the petitions for February 27th. I know that different people are told different dates so I'm not sure how accurate that is. But yeah, can't file service request because its normal.

Ya, hopefully VSC picks up the pace. Otherwise, we'll be waiting forever. At least I-130s have priority over other immigrant visa categories. Just wish they would hire more people or share their case load with CSC or something. Do something to show that we are not being left in the dust.

This is an excerpt from a mainstream-media newspaper article on the President's "Deferred Action" program, whereby the children of illegal immigrants can apply for work permits:
No new [uSCIS] workers have been hired to review the school records, sworn affidavits and other documentation each applicant is required to file. And no funds have been appropriated to pay added processing costs. Officials said the initial budget would be covered by the $465-per-application fee, and as more fees are collected, new staff will be hired.

An application for an undocumented farmworker to apply for legal amnesty under a program signed by President Reagan in 1986 cost the immigration agency $1,130 to process, two members of Congress wrote in an Aug. 7 letter to Janet Napolitano, secretary of Homeland Security.

In the past, not charging enough to review applications has "resulted in an enormous backlog of legal immigration benefits applications and very long processing wait times for legal immigrants and aspiring U.S. citizens," wrote Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa).

On Tuesday, Smith denounced the deferral program as a "magnet for fraud and abuse" designed to shore up Latino support for Obama. "There seems to be little if any mechanism in place for vetting fraudulent applications and documentation submitted by illegal immigrants," Smith said in a statement.

Applicants must mail completed forms and documentation to one of four immigration service centers: in Laguna Niguel; Dallas; Burlington, Vt.; or Lincoln, Neb.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-immigrant-kids-20120815,0,2097285.story

Two of the service centers are, of course, the CSC and the VSC.

Upwards of 1.7 million of these applications are expected as a conservative estimate. USCIS is probably under political pressure to make their processing a priority. Anyone who is concerned about the impact on processing times for legal-immigration petitions might wish to contact their Congressman and U.S. Senator, or else sit back and be aware that the standard processing times could be extended, by a short or long time.

I'm sure glad I made it to the NVC stage just in the nick of time.

on CNN they talked about the I-130 being slowed down.

you can thank the President of the U.S. and all those illegal aliens that have been given a 2 year pass.

of course a USCIS service center has to process all of these first
