VJ members,

My wife will be going to VFS office in India to submit the docs soon, but before she goes there need some info.

I have submitted following to NVC before:

1) DS 230 package

(with original Marriage certificate, original my wife birth certificate, DS 230 Part I signed by my wife with Part II unsigned, her two passport size photo,

photocopy of the passport biographic data page, DS 230 Document cover sheet)

2) AOS package

(864 EZ with necessary supporting documents)

what will she need to submit at VFS office in Ahmedabad?

Does she have to submit AOS package again at VFS or at the time of the interview at the consulate?

I do know for fact that she has to submit PCC (she has that in her hand), and Medical report (she will get that soon); Is there anything that needs to be submit at VFS office in Ahmedabad?

Does she has to submit everything at VFS before the interview or she can submit it at the time of the interview?

Please let me know asap. Thanks in advance.

what will she need to submit at VFS office in Ahmedabad?

1) First, VFS need your money. (I believe it is close to Rs.383). - MOST IMPORTANT.

2) They may need a complete set (copy) of DS-230 whatever submitted to NVC + any thing pending.

3) PCC --- Yes, they want it... If you already submitted with NVC, copy will do it.

4) Medical Report. If you have it, they will take it..

5) AOS Copy not necessary. If you want to give it to them, they will take that too.

6) Any originals (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Decree, PCC) - If you have not submitted to NVC they will take it.

7) Passport Biographic pages.

Carry the passport, two passport size picture (to be on safe side) and interview letter when going to VFS...

VFS will return the Passport, interview letter and provide you the VFS receipt...

Good Luck!

Thank you for your reply.

Does anyone know if USC is allowed to go inside the Mumbai consulate with the applicant at the time of the interview?

How many days ahead my wife needs submit everything to VFS office and after they receive it how long does VFS takes to submit everything to consulate?

after the visa is approved, can you pick up the visa on same day at mumbai consulate?

Hi,

From my call last night to the Mumbai counsulate, it should be submitted to the VFS at least 4-7 days prior to the interview.

The USC petitioner cannot attend the interview at the Mumbai consulate, whereas if were in Delhi it is permissable.

Are there still fees to be paid to VFS for a CR1 visa interview? Given that its already been given for the AOS and IV bills directly to the NVC before.

Hopefully it can be possible to pickup the passport with visa in person as my wife is to stay one additional day in Mumbai for in case of that after the interview.

Mumbai consulate does not allow USC to go with the applicant at the time of an interview.

IR-1/CR-1 applicant still has to pay courier fees at VFS when you go there to submit documents. It's a mandatory fee.

I did it at 011-91 120 6611411, which I think is the VFS helpline. Did it at around midnight, eastern time from the US.
