Hello VJs,

I talked to NVC two weeks ago and they told me that they already forward my case to New Delhi embassy.

With the help of VJ embassy info i called the following number:

Immigrant Visa info (for K1,K3) (011+91) + 011-2419-8062/ 8374

and they gave me VFS number 91-1206611411

and i finally call them and they told me to wait for 4 to 12 weeks. Embassy going to send you a letter within this time period.

so how you guys find out when the approved application reached the US Embassy abroad(any one with New Delhi experience), is there a special number or email, or everybody finds out when the Embassy send you the packet 3.

Thanks,

hmpreet

new delhi US embassy doesn't send packet 3 i guess. i never recieved my packet 3 had to download the forms, fill them , print and then scan them to pdf and email them to infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com.

to track your case you would have to call department of state(DOS) at +1202-663-1225. press 1 and 0 to talk to an operator or a visa specialist, provide them you case no. and they can tell u if your papers have reached the embassy. if your papers have arrived at the embassy then just email them form DS 230part1 and applicant's statement, because only after they recieve these documents, the embassy will schedule an appointment for you. dont wait for the packet to arrive once the DOS confirms that your papers are at the embassy.

Make sure that PDF document size is below 2MB. Otherwise VFS won't accept it.

Also the best way is to drop the documents at VFS , dont email them .. U are waiting for a week to get confirmation if the docs made it or not. If u drop in person .. its gauranteed as u get a receipt. U will have to pay Rs. 35 or so but trust me its worth it rather then waiting / hoping email makes it to the embassy through VFS at first go.

Thank you guys, this is really good information, thank you very much for your advise. I just called the DOS, looks like they are close now (i will try on Monday)

1) I know about DS-230 part 1 but what exactly is applicant's statement ?

2) After you send them the email, did you guys received any confirmation email. ?

3) one more question about PCC, US New Delhi embassy only need Police Clearance from Passport office so no need to get PCC from Police station (SP's office)

Thanks Again..this is very valuable information ! Appreciate your help.

Thanks
