hi all

originally for our "meeting face to face", my fiance tried to come here and get a Student f-1 visa to come into to the USA for short-term. so he then registered in a class near here at an international USA based institute. he has his associates degree and is currently working on his masters degree overseas. but the reason his f-1 was denied is that they said he had 'not enough incentive to return' and not stick in the US, despite the receipt of the institution fees he already paid and a paid round trip ticket to show intent to leave before the f-1 visa expired.

anyway. plan B, i flew to meet him and it was wonderful

so my question is; Do I include this f-1 visa attempt in my letter of how we met???

if not, do we mention it some where else? I have a feeling they will bring it up.

you fiancé wasn't denied US entry - he was denied F-1 visa because he couldn't prove that he would return to his country after graduation.

I would suggest that you give only what you are asked for. On I-129f you are required to provide circumstances of meeting each other within past 2 years prior to filing. So, go ahead and write a brief statement with details of when you went to see him, where you guys stayed and so on. Provide evidence such as boarding passes, hotel receipts if any, etc.

On two forms that he will be filling for K-1 interview there will be questions if he was even denied a US entry - he needs to answer No, because he has never been. Now, if during his interview he is asked about his F-1 application, he HAS to be 100% honest, and tell that he was denied. But it shouldn't prevent him from getting a K-1. good luck!

The denial of the F1 shouldn't affect a K1.

Since they are the ones handing out the visas, they will know about the denial. If they want to talk about it, he should tell them the truth; but if don't bring it up, he shouldn't volunteer information.
