Hi

My husband is from izmir. Its a modern area, modern thinking. I never have had a him tell me about what I can wear or do. But the cultural difference show in different ways.Being honest about this subject is very important. They are learning the true american womans mind.

Yeah my husband told me about izmir is very European but my husband is very traditional for example not kissing men or the chicks or the clothes I wear e.g no low cut shirts and so on. I always have to serve him and in ramadan he wakes me up at 3 or for in the morning to eat/

My husband is Turkish he cleans, cooks, irons and does the dishes as much as I do. He never says anything about how I dress accept to compliment it if he likes it I don't often wear very short things as we live in Istanbul (my choice not his) but when we're in the states he dosen't have any issue with mini skirts or short shorts.

I know several Turkish men like your husband and they can have a difficult time adjusting to America and American women. I know you said he was traditional when you met him but he also has to realize that you're not I hope you guys can find some compromise.

My hubby is from a traditional area, but wouldnt ever say anything on what I wear. He just said once a couple years ago why is your shirt so tight and I said ha! Its actaully kind of big for American standards and he shut up...but anyway, he probably wishes I would wake up and cater to him, but knows its not reasonable to ask (I wish we could live with us in traditional roles, but the US isnt that way with two people needing to work unfortunately), esp with oour babies and even before when i worked long hours. He does most of the housework now (becasue we have triplet babies)and I do more of the babyy carea lthough he pitches in a lot. I think you guys need to have a long talk on expectations...I had one before hubby got here on many, many topics to avoid misunderstandings...the biggest one we have is American teenagers (mine) now lol

Im right with you..Trust me. And my fiancee isnt even here yet but I know hes soo conservative and traditional. But Ive always known that and im working with him to try and change it. But what your saying is just how I feel :o My word of advice. I know you wanna..I did for the first two years..but DONT give in to him..for everything. Cuz then when u really just wanna stop doing some of the stuff uve been doing for him, its EVEN worse then the fights youll have now for not really doing it. But its your husband, you know. Just saying I made that mistake and now i wish in the beginning I softly told him no or found a better middle point...
