Gah, 2-3 albums? No way :)

My whole submission was about 1/4" thick. 2-3 photo albums would be around 3" thick by themselves!

I meant to take to interview not to sent with package. :D

BTW, what you say for photos@ Interview?

Thanks !

I would bring maybe 10-20 more photos for the interview. A gazillion photos is not strong evidence, particularly when they are all from the same day. What is strong evidence is photos from various times and places, with various people in them (different family members/friends). I would go through your albums, and pick a variety of photos. Lugging around all the pics of the dog will just break your back and annoy the IO.

I mean, it's not rocket science. What could you tell about a stranger who showed you a million pics taken in the same place? Would you gain any insight into their lives?

Harpa Timsah, I think we're pretty much just goofing around.. don't take the pictures of the dogs too too seriously!

You know what happened with our album? The security guy ALMOST threw his back when he tried to pick up my bag that contained the album and files.. I think he thought I was smuggling bricks. Then I forgot to even take it out at the interview.... But maybe that's a good thing.. who wants to see 300 pics of a dog, anyway..

I really did include the dog pictures.

But, the IO didn't keep any pictures of the dogs. The pictures he was most interested in were the ones of my husband with my kids, and pictures of us together. He kept all of those.

Wondering how much evidences/documents are sufficient/appropriate to provide with AOS package?

We got married couple of months back but we are living together for over 2 years. Hence, have joint accounts like bank, credit cards, Utilities, leases etc for over 2 years.

Now, these bank & credit card statements, utility bills we get every month. So, how many i should send with the package?

Also, how many letters (joint & solo) should i send?

Same with photos. We have ton of photos together. How many, and what kind of photos will be good to send along with package?

Kind of confused

Idea is to use all these evidences wisely. I understand that 'more is not always good' :)

Good luck to all members !!

ok...first off...you do NOT send that stuff with your AOS package...why would you? where in the instructions ANYWHERE does it say to do that?...i dont believe anywhere. someone make this clear to me as to why people send evidence of a bonifide marriage. is it cause of the i-130? it has been a very long time since i sent away our petition. we sent the petition seperatly then waited for an answer from it to send our i-485/i-765 if people are sending photos and bank statements etc with their i-485 ...you are wasting money and your time and the IO's time. they require that stuff at the interview i do believe. either way, just curious why people are sending stuff ?

K-1s don't have to send evidence of a bonafide marriage with their AOS. Applicants from any other visa do. I honestly don't remember if it goes with the I-130 or I-485 but it is a requirement for non-k-1 adjusters.

It's in the instructions, I believe it's the I-130. It says send one of the following, and gives a list. And it says send anything else to prove the relationship is bona fide.

Hopefully you sent something. You must have, or you'd get an RFE.

mccbsimon, our motto here seems to be 'better safe than sorry'

Now to think of it, especially going back and reading all the [what now seem like] silly questions I asked before and was SO CONCERNED about .... yes, a lot of us probably COULD have gotten away with sending less but who wants to risk an RFE these days? There are ways to provide A LOT of evidence without overwhelming the IO... for example send JUST the info page of joint bank agreement which lists names and address instead of sending multiple statements and/or the ENTIRE agreement.

It is not always easy to determine the correct balance of enough but not too much documents to send... the process is stressful and confusing and it helps to start things off RIGHT from the beginning :)

Yes, it's the I-130 that requires at least one piece of evidence in addition to the marriage certificate. If you sent nothing else you just got lucky.
