Just wanted to pen a thread to see if many with JUly NOA2s have got NVC numbers and have left for the various consulates. Mine was received at NVC and the next day i had a number but its still at NVC under processing. Its been two weks since the number assigned but has not left. Is that a good sign or not?

Did they tell you that it was in additional processing? K1's are sometimes held up there on AP, it is only usually a couple of weeks lately.

yea. they said additional processing. other times its administrative processing. people have been flying pass me. some two days they leave fr consulates. mine is sitting there for two weeks now. i hvae number but it has not left.

Okay, that's what it is then. We got stuck there a few years ago for nearly 8 weeks. Times have come down a lot now. Usually just a few weeks, or less. Keep calling them, so you will know when they send it on. They are meant to notify you, but they usually don't. Hope you get out soon

You're lucky to have the case#. I see K1's get them with days of arriving. My NOA2 was 6/29, however CSC I don't know put me on a shelf after weeks and a service request and a NVCresearch they located my case and 31 days later I arrived at NVC. Still waiting for my case#. Everyone I know after me with approval are done at NVC waiting on interviews K1's and CR1/IR1's. But I know mine is coming soon.

does AP mean back ground checks? i read on the USCIS website that background checks are done and any information found wil be made

is it illegal to call NCV. One operator told me i called many times and i should not call. i asked if it was illegal to make a lawful inquiry and she wen silent. some these people can be very unpleasant. Just my experience. i speoke to her very nicely but she was like why 'am i here at work today"

No it is not illegal. We called them every day for nearly 6 weeks. They don't have to like it, they aren't paid to like it. But they are paid to answer inquiries. My husband used to write the name down of every one he spoke to, and if he got a grumpy one, he would ask for a supervisor and let them know. Only happened once, don't let the phone drones discourage you.
