Hello fellow VJR's Hope everyone is doing well. I called NVC this morning because it made 2 weeks today for Imad's approval on the I-129F. I talked with a very nice lady and because I was so nervous I didn't catch much from her besides our case # and she said they received it last week. I think she said they were still looking at it and they will email me when it is sent to Casa. I THINK she said email... lol Anyway, now I feel like a dork cause I have a case number and have no idea what to do with it. Is there anywhere I can check on the case with this number or do I have to wait for it to go to Casa consulate before knowing anything more?? Once again thank you for any answers you can provide and sorry for being a nervous dork :help: :help:

Ya know what I did? Since you just got a case number, I would go ahead while chatting with your fiance and pull up the forms he will receive in his packet three for his interview. Have him print them off and you both go over the information and have him do a rough draft for when he is ready to print off a new form and submit it so there are no errors. I also did a rough draft of the I864 and went over that with a fine tooth comb to make sure no errors were made and the numbers added up properly. Just print off any thing you will need to send him and make a check list as to what you need and then when you are ready to send off the original forms to him you will feel confident that all is good.

Have you sent any of the forms on your behalf yet for him to take with him to the interview, since the approval of the NOA2??

Here are some of the things you and him can get familiarized with if you haven't already. Here is Packet 3 below that he will receive from the Consulate below.

Appointment letter with interview date.

1. The DS-156 (2copies)

2. DS-156K for K1 visa (not used for K3)

3. DS-157

4. DS-230 Part I

5. Medical Exam instructions/list of doctors

6. An instruction sheet explaining that the applicant needs the following for the interview:

- passport (valid at least 6 mos. beyond visa issuance)

- birth certificate

- police certificate

- court record certificate/Segel Adli (obtained from town/city of birth)

- two color photographs (full face, 2 inches square or 5x5 cm)

- any marriage/death/divorce decrees

- if not married, a certificate of singlehood/Shahadat Al3ozoba

- medical exam results (the doctor's office sends this directly to the consulate)

- evidence of relationship (pictures, letters, e-mails, call history, chat history, etc.)

- certified translations of any docs not in English

- an instruction sheet that asks for the signature of the applicant (although they don't take it when you/your fiance(e) go to the interview)

- I864 Affidavit of Support and supporting documents *not listed in packet 3, but required as of 6/2010 for K1 visas, per my phone convos with the consulate*

Thank you Foreverwaiting! I have not mailed him anything yet and he did go on Monday to do his moroccan passport. I am still trying to get a sponsor :( I am going to ask my brother but he is so busy and he never calls me back. I do have a friend who said she would do it but I would rather ask family before I ask friends. It is a big deal and not to be taken lightly. As you know. When I went to visit him back in April I did take him a lot of proof of relationship but ofcourse there is more since then  This is so overwhelming. So what can we do with the case # from NVC?? Can Imad call the consulate with it to find out if they received it yet?? Thank you for your help :D

Have you seen this flow chart before? It tell you a bit about the process. I was looking at your timeline and you got your NOA2 back in July, I would start getting your co sponsor ready and quickly as they have to get the tax transcripts and etc. on the I864. Once you find out your case has been sent to the Consulate its usually 2-4 weeks until the interview and that is about how long you will need to to mail your fiance all your documents required. This is the time for when push comes to shove and you need to have everything ready just in case you find out your case is out the door and on it's way to CASA. No one can tell how long your case will stay at the NVC, look at my time line and maybe you can get a good idea, as I already forgot how long we stayed there once we received our NOA2. Wasn't way to long.

Now get busy girl LOL...

LOL thank you again, I actually just got off the phone with my brother. He just informed me that his phone was not working and he got a new one. I told him I have something really important to discuss with him and I didn't want to do it over the phone. I think I will start getting some things together tonight. Thank god I had taken things to him last time I visited or it would be worse. I pray my brother says yes, incha'allah. He is a bit racist though because he was in Iraq for a year. He said he would take the time to get to know him once he gets here but until then he doesnt trust him :( So, i'm worried about that, anyway, I will check the link out you sent. You always so helpful to everyone here, I just wanted to say how much you are appreciated (L)
