Medical exam and vaccination record

You can get it done anytime you want, but bear in mind that it will only be valid for one year from the date of completion (e.g. if you had the exam done today, 15th August 2012, you would have until 15th August 2013 to submit it to USCIS as part of your application).

Provided you intend to submit the sealed envelope together with your AoS inside 12 months then you will have no issue doing it now.

In my case it was a huge rip off as I grew up here in the United States, so basically all my vaccinations are from here, hence I did not need any vaccination to be completed. So all I needed was the Quantiferon blood test, syphilis blood test and that's it, and I had to pay $300!!!! So it varies by region as you see, and here in the Sacramento area in California it is a big rip off. It is sad...

Thanks a lot!!! That's a lot of money my fiancee is in CA but Im in MN and Im still checking where I should go for the medical examination, For the biometrics and the interview do we get to pick where we want to do it? Do we have to go together on both of them??? It is so hard to do all that living in different states. Thanks so much for all the help!

For biometrics your spouse will likely not be allowed inside the building. It only takes 5-10 minutes though, so isn't a big deal.

For the interview your spouse will be required to be there, unless they are on active US military service.

We paid $185 for the exam (without vaccinations) in Sacramento. It varies by doctor, not just region.

Your interview will be at your local USCIS office. Since you apparently don't live together, I believe it will be at the beneficiary's local office.

Well I am happy to say I finally got over my fears and got my medical exam done last thursday! I paid $225 in NYC and luckily I didn't need to get any x-rays or vaccines. As long as you tell your doctor you got your tetanus vaccine less than 10 years ago you won't need a booster (2 needles was more than enough for me  )
