Wrong Service Center?

I live in California. Last February I submitted my K1 Fiancee Petition to the Texas Service Center. Is that a problem?

They accepted the petition and I received I-797C NOA1. I have now been waiting 6 months since NOA1 and I am getting nervous, fearful that I might have made a big mistake.

If I check the timelines for Texas, there are no I-129F listed on the Immigrations web site.

This is a common question, did you read the guides per chance?

All I-129F petitions get submitted to Texas lockbox. They then decide where it goes to for adjudication, Vermont or California. When you get your NOA1 it will let you know where it was sent.

You can also register on the USCIS.Gov website for updates.

Your petition is at the Cailifornia Service Center when approved it will go to the National Visa Center. You should receive your NOA2 soon, if you don't call them for an update. Good Luck

To add: I just looked at your timeline

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 27, 2012 and June 4, 2012*.

You should call for sure to check on it

Look at your NOA1 and locate the Receipt Number:

If it starts with WAC, your file is being processed by the California Service Center

If it starts with EAC, your file is being processed by the Vermont Service Center

Yours will, most likely, be handles by California. As others pointed out, there is a Texas Service Center, but it does not process K1 petitions. We mail the packets to a lockbox in Texas where they sort the mail and route them in the appropriate direction.

You should edit your Timeline with the appropriate Service Center and you'll see that (for better or worse) your Estimated Adjudication Time will change good.gif

I called USCIS at 1-800-375-5283. I was unsure of the selection so I chose the first one that suggested an agent, I think it was 6.

He said processing times for CSC is 5 months. I have been wait 6 months so he submitted a Service Request to CSC. He said they should contact me within 15 days via email. I have a referral number also.

Thanks for your assistance!

Yes, approved the same day as the Service Request. Makes me wonder if I called 2 or 3 weeks ago, it would have been approved then?

Most likely, when they ignore the petitions and then you draw attention to the fact it's late on being reviewed it seems they approve it right away. Good Luck To You on your Continued Journey:)
