I meant once you actually move? sorry to hear that. I pray everything will work its self out.

Not really a fan but was when I was a kid. From the post Hulk Hogan days to when Stone Cold & The Rock left. Its my stag/bachelor party in November and were going oit as WWF wrestlers.....guess who I am being forced to dress as?

OOOOOH right! Well we are planning to buy a new house so it is easier for her to get around with her disability and plan for the wedding. Trying to get a job within the media in TN is proing to be challenging to say the least!

LOL most of the items such as reception, wedding dress and photographers she won during a wedding expo they had in her town! Lucky girl won an $8,000 Christian Dior wedding dress!!

Yeah they were the good ol' days. Its pretty good now, really boring during the 09-11 period.

Hmmm....if I had to guess either Mankind or Undertaker? :P

there is going to be a period of about 3 months where your not allowed to work. you won't have much luck applying for jobs until your legal and even then not having expirience/a U.S. degree will go agaisnt you.

Goldust!

Oh really? I was under the impression that you can apply for a SSN weeks after you have arrived, then once married inform the Homeland Security about the change of status. Something along those lines anyway lol! I understand that I cannot apply for jobs straight afterwards, just doing a bit of forward thinking.

Lol I have worked in the media for going on 8 years, and a Masters degree would surely be accetable in the US (you can convert your degress through World Education Service.

WOW! The makeup for that musta taken you ages!!! Did it come with the golden wig? :P

Mate you need to do a bit more research. You need to apply for adjustment of status. There allot more info on this forum but here is a step by step guide to what happens once you arrive on the USA.

1. Point of Entry in the US. You will arrive in the US and get your K1 forms checked by the immigration officer and receive the I-94.

2. Apply for a marriage certificate. You do not need a Social Security Card for this.

3. Get married within 90 days of Point of Entry.

4. Apply for a Social Security number at the local Social Security Administration office. Do not apply until 2 weeks after POE.

5. Receive Social Security number

6. Complete and send I-485 Adjustment of Status as soon as possible after Marriage. This will include I-765 Employment Authorization Document and I-131 Application for Travel which is known as Advanced Parole. The cost is $1070.

8. Biometrics examination at your local Biometrics office

9. Receive my combined Employment Authorization Document and Advanced Parole.

EAD is what allows you to legally work in the US. It should come within 90 days of making the application. Eventually you will get a greencard which you have to re apply for until you become a full citizen and you may have to have a face to face interview with your fiance/then wife.

Not to put a downer on things but in terms of finding a job you might be slightly naive. No matter what the WES site says, and no matter how much experience you have your'e going to America and they like things to be done "the American way". Theres plenty of storys about that on this forum. Best of luck.

I have been lucky in that my current company have offered me a job in the US for when I am legally able to work. But prior to that I was saving money like crazy and still am just in case something goes wrong with the AOS application. Like you i have good quaifications and relevent expirience but I will still have enough money saved up to be out of work for a year just in case.

US like all other countries is not the greatest economy and I don't think Tennesee is the media capital of the world. Myself and Elora will be relocating for my job.

In terms of applying for jobs right now, there most likley going to throw your CV in the trash until your legal. Also American C.V/Resume is completley different so you will need to revamp it. Ask you fiance for a copy of hers.

I understand your position in that you cannot look to far ahead in your life right now and God willing your fiance will make a full recovery, but you need to know that emegrating to the US is a 5 year process not a 6 month one.

In terms of speeding up the process theres a few things you can do.

1. Get your Police report done imediatley.

2. Book your medical as soon as you recieve you case number. Don't have to wait for packet 3.

3. Have all the DS forms filled out and ready to post. You can actually post them before you get Packet 3.

do these 3 and you can cut up to 4 weeks out of the process.

Oh the stag hasn't happened yet so not sure what the Goldust costume will have. I doubt they go to crazy maybe just a gold tracksuit, eyeliner and a wig.

Hi! Here's the link to the London embassy that has all the DS forms in the upper right corner: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

After you get your NOA2 and clear the NVC stage, you'll receive the packet 3 letter. The only useful information in that letter is the link above and the phone number to pay the visa fee. Once you're at the packet 3 stage, the London embassy website is the place to go.

Once you know you're past the NVC stage and have the LND case number, fill out Form DS-230-Part 1 (throw part 2 away), DS-156K, 2 copies of Form DS-156 and and 2 copies of DS-157 and send it to the embassy. One of the forms will have a space for the photo and one of the forms will tell you it needs the police certificate and all that supplemental stuff. Don't send any of that, just the forms.

Then book your medical exam. A few days before the medical exam and after you have the police certificate and all the supplementals, send DS-2001 to the embassy with a cover letter saying you're ready for an interview date and can take one on short notice.

Based on how everyone's done things so far, that should be the fastest way to do it.

Oh, the amount of forms is insane. Not to mention, they tend to ask a lot of the same questions. Then, there's a new round of forms after the K1 is approved and you're in the U.S. and married and want to adjust your status to get a green card. Le sigh.

Hehehe thanks for liking my picture!! :D
