Hi beautiful members, we have gathered all the necessary Documents and ready to send them off finally to the USCIS. But there is one main question i need an urgent answer to before i fill my petition. Do we pack the documents for I130 & i485 in separate Envelops or all in one main envelop?

Please advice.

I put it all in one envelope and didn't have an issue. Held together with paperclips and including a cover sheet. :)

Use paper clips to hold separate forms (I-130 & I-485) & related documents together, put in separate envelopes and then put them in one big envelope. Mark it 'Concurrent filing of...."

I just did paperclips and one big envelope. I don't think it matters, as long as they can easily see the separate forms they are going to send NOA's for. So I did one clip for the I-130, one for the I-485, and one for the I-765. All in one envelope.

5/16/2012 - Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox at 1:33pm

5/21/2012 - Email/text notifications received at 4:50 p.m.

5/26/2012 - NOA hard copies received for I-130, I-485 and I-765

6/19/2012 - Biometrics completed.

7/02/2012 - Text/email/hard copy notification of interview.

7/30/2012 - EAD card production ordered.

8/02/2012 - Interview @ 2:00

8/02/2012 - Email notification of GC production at 5:30pm

8/07/2012 - Second GC production email

8/07/2012 - EAD received.

8/08/2012 - GC mailed.

8/09/2012 - Welcome letter and I-130 approval letter received.

8/10/2012 - Green card received. :)

It is imperative that it is in one package together, or parts will be rejected. Whatever you do inside the package, matters not.

I made coversheets on powerpoint just listing the order of documents in each packet that was paperclipped together and put into one Priority Mail document mailer.

thanks y'all for your advice. We ended up putting both in one large USPS envelop with the 2 packages (i485 & i130 ) separated with paper clips. i Tracked the package and it says its delivered last saturday morning but we did receive any notification from USCIS yet, do they notify rightaway of after a couple days? My concern is though, based on the time pressure, we didn't get to make a cover letter for i485, but did for i130. Would this be a problem?

cover letter is not mandatory. no worries

and the notification can take up to 30 days. so just sit back and relax
