Q about ""Authorization for Release of Federal Tax""

hi again.........sorry i am posting in this forum also.....as i didnt got any reponse from NVC forum

another doubt........this time i found the below given sentences in the james short cuts.....i think we dont need this "Authorization for Release of Federal Tax" anymore as theirs nowhere mentioned about this in I-864 EZ... but thought to confirm from the senior members who know about this.........so posting this.......thaaaanx

In addition to the I-864, you must generate and fill out an Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data. Download the MS Word copy of the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data (available by clicking HERE). Under the barcode, type in your case number. At the bottom of the page, replace the entire phrase "XXX City" with the name of the city in which the embassy interview will take place (i.e., the "post" in Department of State parlance). So if the embassy interview is to take place in Caracas, Venezuela, delete "XXX City" and type in "CARACAS" (all caps).

well, i'm not sure as i still have not received my affidavit of support packet in the mail from nvc, so i was hesitant to answer this when i saw it 1st posted. but my packet was generated already and i had my package all ready to go using james shortcuts. i did put an "authorization to release federal tax data" in my packet. today the nvc told me that my packet had been reviewed and it is ok. so it won't hurt to put it in there, and it is easily downloaded and filled out. i guess better safe than RFE! as 2 whether it is actually required or not, can't say for sure.

i just received my I-864 package today and it comes with the following

- letter that says they have received the AOS fee bill

- barcode sheet cover letter

- authorization for release of federal tax data

- important notice about having it incomplete and it will be sent back... etc, etc

- info about getting help filling out the I-864 from cultural or religious groups, private attorneys, and international organizatin of migration

- important notice for sponsors ... read this before submitting form i-864

- I-864

- I-864EZ

- I-864W

- poverty guidelines

- envelope to mail it in

if you haven't read the james shortcut, i recommend you do. without it, i'd be waiting for this package. with the shortcut, my i-864EZ was sent and received last week
