To answer your first question, yes you can. They issued a temporary driver's license for me which will expire the same date as my EAD.

Bring the following:

- Unexpired Passport with unexpired visa and approved i-94

- Marriage Cert (Proof of name change)

- SS Card (original)

- EAD

- NOA (proof that you're processing GC)

- valid Philippine driver's license (so, they won't issue you a learner's permit and instead, a driver's license)

- 2 proof of residency issued within 60 days of application (may be bills, bank statements, transaction...with your name and address)

You should double check with your state's BMV/DMV website for the requirements. They usually have it there. Good luck! ;)

There is no need of all those documents.

You just have to proof your legal presence, which is perfectly done with your EAD.

SS is required if you are eligible for it.

So in case of AOS pending you will need SS#, EAD and passport
