I would like to know who changes the timelines for VISA JOURNEY? I am talking about the information displayed under the topic: Immigration Timelines, that states the latest, date files that the particular Sevvice Center is working on? How do they (whoever is posting these dates on VJ) get the information from the USCIS.

Here is the link that I am talking about: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

I am intested in the K-1 Visa processing times. My files are at the Vermont Service Center. The VJ site says that Vermont is working on I-129F's for K-1 Visa with the NOA-1 date of Feb. 13, 2012. By the way that is my NOA-1 date, also. Today I called the USCIS at the 1-800-375-5283, I asked them for a Service Request, I tell them it will be 6 months in 5 more days. The USCIS declined by service request. She tells me that the Vermont office is currently working on dates of January 16, 2012, for the K-1 Visa. She said it would be 24 more days (September 1) before I could expect them to get to my petition for the K-1 VISA. In 24 more days it will be 7 months!!! So I don't know who is correct about which dated files Vermont is working on.

Would someone please tell me where VJ gets its information about the dates and is it accurate?

Agree with previous poster. The timelines here is only based on the members filing their timeline, it is not expected to be exact representation of what the service center is doing. As well as lately VSC have been pretty slow and behind unlike CSC who is been approving petitions in 3 months. It's just waiting, waiting and waiting. When dealing with immigration patience is a number 1 thing you will need.

That's just the average worked out by the Visa Journey system based on the number of people who haven't updated their timelines or had NOA2.

From my understanding, the "still working on January 16th" response is coming from VSC when people call and get this as a standard response from the VSC representative.

Also keep in mind, the people answering those phones are not even USCIS employees. They're contractors reading from a script.
