Not the level of education, no. A consular officer may ask about it. However I know one form does ask for educational institutions attended, and employment history. Form ds-230, question 33.

I couldn't see anywhere on the various forms where it address the level of education.

Is there as such that I missed?

DS-230 covers that. There's a method to their madness why they ask. I mean what does that have to do with immigration one would say huh?

The risk of the beneficiary becoming a public charge is larger when having no or very little job history and no education(depending on age and culture, of course).

Thanks for the responses.

I did not word my question correctly, sigh.

So yes we list the school stuff on the DS-230, what I meanat to ask is where are the requirements if any.

Fo rexample we fill out the I-134 and we look at I-1864P where it shows clearly what incoem level is necessary.

So like Penguin said, is there no requirement? Like are they looking for double Doctorate degrees in space exploration with a published thesis on microbiology in Popular Mechanics???

there are no requrements. Still don't get the question. They are looking for (at least DS-230) all schools attended since high school your degree or diploma and what course of study.

But there's no requirement to go to school. Many immigrates have left that as None cuz they didn't go. I know someone there husband didn't finsih elementary school so that field was None.

Is this what u mean?

Right.

So if you then list a secondary school, as an example, do you also have to then present the certificate to the CO? My beneficiary didn't believe in record keeping (we'll have to work on that) so my fear is taht if I list something then I have to back i tup. But I also don't want to omit anything so it doesn't look like mirepresentation.

I wished that we have copies of the high school certificates, not sure if they give out primary school certificates.

Thanks.

I don't think you need those for the CO. You might want the secondary school and university though for job opportunities here in the states, but for the interview, they probably won't ask for that. I would go ahead and gather them (if you can) for when you (or your significant other) moves to the states. There are certain requirements for applying for certain jobs.

You may have seen mention of educational requirements on a Diversity Visa thread. That is where it pops up most often and is a requirement.

There isn't a requirement.

The only requirement is demonstrating that the beneficiary will not become a public charge. Usually that's done with the i-134. There is no minimum requirement for educational level that's the same for everybody. However, if the beneficiary is 45 years old and according to the employment and education history never held any of the 2, then the case becomes unique IF the CO decides to add that to the equation.

One more thing while we're on this.

I'm at a loss as to answering the question about intended occupation. We want to try our hands at importing and exporting goods into and out of Africa.

Do the CO look at this with scrutiny?

Gowan my husband has been in Security work for 17 years. So we answered like this. "While I would love to find a Security position in the US. I will work an job that becomes immediately available to me until a better position presents itself."

We beleive they only wanted to know was he willing to work and would he try to find employment right away.
