Hi friends, I need some Help on US B1/B2 Visa ( ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS ), Can Anyone give Complete information about this, Specially those who have Experience of it.

1 - What are the Chances of getting Visa if someone is given ( ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS ) ?

2 - What kind of Inquiries can be held During this Process ?

3 - How Long it can Take ?

4 - Do We Need to Contact the Consulate to ask them wether they need any document or anything ?

5 - is it true that Visa is Confirmed if they Keep Passport for Admisintrative Process ? I will be very Thankful if someone Provide Helpful Information,

PLEASE NOTE That CO did not see any of my Document, Not even a single paper, Interview was Good, He Talk About my Previous Travel History, My Friend who sent me Invitation, About My Family, in the end He give me a Paper & ask me to write my Brother & sister's Names & my Daughter Name on it, & then He Keep my Passport & give me a white Paper Mentioned 221g Administrative Processing, Hope Everything is Fine :(

Thanking you all in Advance.

It does look good if they kept your passport. Tourist visas are denied frequently, so the fact that you are in AP means they more information to approve. this could be a background check, investigation, etc. Unfortunately, there is no time limit or average time for AP. It could be a few weeks, or a year or more. Every case is different, so if they havent gathered the information they need yet, you will be in AP until they do. No, you do not need to contact the consulate. They say do not contact them during AP. They usually will not even reply to an email about AP.

Hope this helps!

Which Consulate are we talking about?

You can ask for your Passport back.

The profile pic of the OP leads me to believe it's Pakistan.

Did not see that but it does make sense.

There seems no fast Ap for these cases no matter what type of Visa.

Thanks a lot Brother, But Also Consider this fact that they have not see any of my document, then how can we say that they need to see something else, how do they know what document is miising or anything like that ?

There is no specific time limit for AP, during the AP they do the back ground check, name check etc.

They would only do the AP for potentially approved case, if someone was outright rejected they would not bother to spend time and resource on those case.

Being in AP is kinda good sign that visa is approved if the check comes clean .

You did not answer the question how everyone are on different status?

As mentioned earlier post you have stronger ties to US compared to Aus and all the denials does add up.

Administrative processing can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. It’s a “catch all” phrase that they use whenever they need to do some additional processing or investigation or something has come up that they need to look into. They may even call your relatives and ask questions about why you want to travel.

Wow already 10 months? I had to apply for my tourist visa twice and the first time they didn't look at any documents so the second time I didn't bother bringing anything. They really don't look at documents that much I don't think. Maybe except if it's for business or medical reasons. But all my friends who applied for a B1/B2 visa didn't get a chance to show any documents to support their ties.
