Well I dk what a valid reason would be, but the office the uscis office they will most likely refer us to is a good six, seven hours away, when there is one, in a different state, thats three hours away.I was planning to dk a walk in and give it a shot.

Have you gotten the letter yet? They will likely send you to the one that is closest to you. My regional office is in Memphis which is where I thought they would send us to for fingerprints (7 hour drive), but luckily they scheduled us for Atlanta which is only 2 1/2 hours away even though it is in a different state.

Total elapsed time between filing I-129F to GC in hand 569 days or 1 Year, 6 months, 22 days.

Nah, I'm sending the paperwork very soon, but you know my situation, I figured I could try a walk in before my husband leaves.

Wait for your biometrics letter after the NOA first, otherwise they will not let you enter.

As said previously, you need the biometrics appointment letter to be able to try to do this. It should arrive about 3-4 weeks after the NOA1.

It can be faster, I got mine a day after my NOA hardcopies.

Quite possibly...but let's see where they send you first (NOA). You have about a month or so before he leaves, right? Pop that baby in the mail then report back to us when they send you the notice. You might actually get scheduled before he leaves, but if not I'm sure if you put on your most innocent face and explain your husband is leaving for duty soon they will do what they can to accomodate. :P

She won't be able to try and walk in for biometrics without the appointment letter.

That's why I said wait for the NOA. I should have clarified the Biometric letter. Yes, don't go without that. :P
