Hello all,

My wife and I are curious about the I-864 since we are both college students (she is the F-1 student we are applying for adjustment). I worked the previous year but have been unemployed since January, when I transferred schools. Obviously I cannot be her sponsor due to lack of income, and my previous year's income is just below the cut-off either way should I have still been employed.

Her father has been supporting her on her student Visa. I realize that he cannot be considered a sponsor since he is not a US resident. Is it possible to state that the money she receives from her father is her income and sufficient enough to keep her from falling into "poverty"?

I couldn't find anything about what needs to be provided/proved if the immigrant in question wishes to use their income for the Affidavit of Support.

nope,

you are the petitioner, you are the sponsor. if you cannot meet the poverty guideline, you will have to find a joint sponsor that must be a LPR or USC.
