This question came from a friend. Kindly help me to answer his query.

Here's the scenario:

He's been married 4x (all american women), twice with the same woman of first marriage. Looking at the Form I-129F -- no. 9. Names of Prior Spouses / Date(s) Marriage(s) Ended -- there are only two fields to fill out, the question is, does he needs to declare all four ended marriages or is it suffice to fill out just the two fields? or does he needs to add another sheet of paper for the other 2 ended marriages? If so, the problem is Louisiana court, has no record of the 1st marriage and they can't provide anymore divorce decree documents. According to them all their archive records were damage due to Katrina hurricane.

I appreciate everyone answers on this matter. Thanks!

Yes he needs to include all marriages. Just list them on a separate sheet of paper and that he includes all the documentation to prove that he is divorced.

1) As a belt and suspender type of Guy (new description learned on VJ, thanks Guys), this is not the time to not list any and all information required. At worst you woudl inlcude an explanantion for why you don; thave the data.

2) Just a reminder to others, please try to have copies of pertinent documents that happened in your life in safekeeping.

Good luck.

HAve him contact his Attorney or the County where his Divorce was filed and finalized. They both will have copies. He may have to pay a fee to County but he can get the docs needed. I had to call my former Attorney to obtain my copy as well. Who wants that memory laying around...

I also had to request a certified copy from the state where the divorce occurred as I didn't want that memory around either

I live in Louisiana and I work for an Attorney. That is the first I have heard of Documents being destroyed in Katrina. They can contact the court in which the divorce took place and any CLERK can help them out. No need to pay an attorney for what you can get yourself. Feel free to PM me and maybe I can help.

It would depend on the Parish the divorce was in. St.Bernard and some of Orleans Parish had some problems but most documents were already placed into computer files. He should contact the exact clerk of court and request a copy. Unless I know the exact court, I can't give specifics.
