Hello everyone, My fiancee and I met in person over the last few weeks and we spent almost four weeks together. During this period we decided to get engaged and file for a K1 afterwards. Actually, We knew eachother for nothing but 3 months, then filed the K1, yet we sent proof and evidence of our relationship along with the package. Is there any serious issue here? I would appreciate your comments, help and guidance.

If in fact the totality of the time you two have known each other is 3 months, that is a big red flag. Look at the Moroccan Consulate website for fraud indicators. They will more than likely flag your case and give you scrutiny. If you look on the website, they suggest you know each other at least a year before considerations of marriage. Even if your relationship is legitimate, expect a much tougher road. Many people have been denied and have had to fight their case, because they got engaged within months of knowing each other. What I am saying is just based on the information you gave above.

Thank you for your prompt replies. Actually, we knew eachother since April. The benificiary is a male, it is me, Mithra! We did not meet on line. We met through friends in the US.

So you both were in the US or how did you come to know each other? She came sometime after that for a month, and then she filed the petition in July which is within three months? It's not the time you've known each other since filing the petition, but the fact that you filed so quickly which they will take note of.

Also, meeting through friends may or may not be a red flag if the consulate perceives it as a sort of set up for immigration purposes.

Oh ok, I just wanted to make sure because I know some couples share an account here.

Well if you hadn't filed yet I would have suggested that you wait and then visit again before filing. You haven't known each other very long and like Golden Gate mentioned, the consulate will scrutinize your case due to that fact. I guess what you can do now is save any chat records, emails, phone records, etc. showing that you have an ongoing relationship. Also, try to go back for a couple visits before the interview. Unfortunately, you may get denied due to only knowing each other for a short time before getting engaged and filing. Do you have a large age difference? Do you share a religion? Who are these friends that brought you two together? How did they bring you together? Are either of you previously married? Do either of you have children? Do you have a similar socio economic and educational background? These are things a CO will consider when making a decision on your case.

In fact, I knew friends in the US who introduced us as friends, then our relationship developed in this short period of time or so to speak. I have never been to the US. She came over for a visit and then we decided to get engaged. we are planning for more visits in the near future.

Well, we almost share the same profession and there is a slight age difference. As far as the friends who brought us together are concerned, they are a couple, my friend is Morrocan and his wife is American, they visit Morocco every once in a while.

Just be aware that no matter if you met through friends or online, they will definitely question how you could know each other so well in such a short period of time in order to decide to get married. Then proceed from there. This will cause them to look at the many other factors of your life, which might lead them to believe that you are merely looking for a way out of Morocco. You have a good grasp of English, it seems, so as long as you proceed with caution and patience, I think the sincerity of your intentions will come through.

Thank you everyone. We are in the mid30's of age and we want to start our life as soon as possible. I even tried a tourist visa to visit her back, we wanted to visit here and there, but unfortunately I was denied. So we were bound to move to K1. concerning, my socio economic factors, I guess I have a good job and I am not desperate to immigrate. I just cannot imagine myself without her, that's all I can say.

Well, good luck on your journey. Dealing with the U.S. Government can be frustrating, as can the Moroccan Government. Just hang in there, and realize also that there is a trade-off no matter where you are. One thing that has become apparent since my husband came is that Morocco grows way better tasting food. So, savor each bite while you can!

Well I wish you good luck in your process. :star: Just be prepared and gather as much evidence of your relationship as you can for your interview. Get to know your fiancee and her life very well before the interview so that you will be able to answer any question you may be asked.
