Medical Exams only in Moscow?

Thanks to everyone for all of your support on this terrific website!

I have searched and read everything on the medical exams here, but I do not see if all medical exams MUST take place in Moscow.

We are waiting for our NOA2 (hopefully in the next few weeks) and in anticipation of the list of things to do soon, we are thinking of the medical exam.

Zhenya is in Nizhny Novgorod. Can she receive her medical exam there once she has her case number? It seems like the interview process would be much more stress free for her if the exam was finished prior to going to Moscow for the interview.

Unrelated question: Does anyone have a copy of the checklist they received in Russia when they received it from the Embassy? It would be nice to know in advance exactly what is on that list.

Thanks!

-Matt

unfortunately, she will have to take her exam in Moscow. There are only two clinics approved by US embassy, Filatov Clinic and IOM, for the region she is living in.

we are currently waiting for some acknowledgement from the embassy that they have put our case into their system, hopefully by that time they will also sent us some sort of check list. So far we have been going by the one they have on their website. Just keeping fingers crossed it's not outdated, and there won't be too many "surprises" when the check list arrives.

She will only be able to take her medical at the clinics that are approved by the embassy (should be listed on the u.s. moscow embassy web page) If I remember correctly, she will recieve a checklist and it will name the two approved clinics. We had no problems at the IOM facility, in and out. I think the results of the exam are time sensitive and are vaild only for 24 hrs or so ( I could be wrong), Because Zhanna had to go the day before her interview to IOM then the next day she had her interview.

Just take the medical one or two days before the interview.

My fiancee's interview is tomorrow. She did the medical this morning. She picked up the results this afternoon.

I was worried that she scheduled it too close to the interview, but when she called to make the appointment, the attendant insisted that doing it the day before the interview was absolutely fine and she would have no problem getting the results in time.

I guess she was right, although if I had to make the same decision again, I would still have scheduled two days before the interview just in case (there is always something that can go wrong)

It is time sensitive and yes, the two in Moscow are the only allowed. You DO get to choose the day because it is now linked to the date you choose for the Interview. Has to be sealed.. has to be within the time frame noted. We agree this would be nice to have otherwise but the Embassy is clear on this one.
