Purty much. But my one case of 'no new adjudicators hired' is a known outcome, for queue wait times :D

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

OH this is a touchy subject and sorry everyone can't agree. It is my understanding that a seperate center has or will open to only handle those expected to file under the new amnesty program. I am grateful that this is opening up for the "children" I know to young men both just graduated from high school and what do they have for their future? Both are applying and one will be joining the Airforce once his papers are in order the second one will be going on to vocational school.

I just hope all works out all who are in the process of starting their new lives!!

Im not against about this whole dreamers issue! But i was wondering what is going to happens with all this kids after the 2 years of parole ends? President Obama granted them EAD for 2 years! Then what? Their option would be: be deported or keep living as ilegal imigrant. Is bul$&@ to think they ALL gonna get visas based in work and jobs in order to keep them in here in legal terms. Im not against Obama, i moved in to the US 4 month ago, and i havent live here enough to make a well documented and think opinion, but from my point of view, it wasnt a smart move. When you take this kind of desicions, you need to think in long term. They are happy now, but then? People said he do as a strategic move to gain voters in latins community, but if he did it for those reasons, are really bad reasons to do it. Im immigrant also, a legal one, and i cant help feel sorry for all the people who is struggeling with ilegal immigration. Hope they would find a real solution for them

I believe this is a way for the country to make up for their debt. The more people work now, the more taxes are coming in...just my opinion.

Here is my take. If there is going to be a delay it will be for those who are ending the system now. For those who are in the churner, it will be a matter of luck, which is no different than now. The line is not linear. My point is that you can let anxiety take the best of you or you can keep your eyes on the prize at the end of the wait. I have no doubt the USCIS is doing the best they can to make sure any impact be minimized.

We ALL are descendants of immigrants here. Our forefathers came over and took this land from the indigenous people by killing them and doing horrible things along the way. This is a historical fact. Not an opinion.

In our early years, America was revered as the land of the free and opportunity. Immigrants came freely to escape religious, racial, political persecution, seeking relief from lack of economic opportunity, even famine. I don't know why this ideology has changed.

Along the way, the route to freedom changed and it became increasingly difficult to immigrate legally to the US. I am pretty sure that most people who came here illegally would have chosen a legal route had it not been so difficult.

Americans in the past have taken advantage of illegal immigrants by giving them difficult laborious jobs that no one else wanted and they paid them horrible wages (if any at all). Are not those people just as guilty of some crime?

I agree with giving this group of illegal immigrants the chance to do things legally. I also think they should pay the same price as anyone else going through the process and go through the same scrutiny. Additionally, I think that NONE of these applicants should take precedence over any cases that have gone through the legal channels.

However, I also think that we need to make sure that illegal immigration from this point on is dealt with differently and that there is no way to alter that process. If we don't, then America is encouraging others to follow in the same footsteps.

We as voters have to somehow bring the dialogue of immigration to our elected officials. Campaign against the bad politicians, try to get good ones elected. Unless we get someone in office that is willing to do the right thing, there is not going to be any change.

Just my opinion. (Feel free to bash me)

I think that a lot of people say they are doing it the LEGAL way and its unfair for those who are not, however if those millions of people had the opportunity to come here a LEGAL way they would, paying the same amount of money and waiting the same amount of time that you guys (a lot of them pay thousand and thousands of dollars just to make it across the border, to then have no rights inside the country). The only difference between you and them is that there is no legal way for them to immigrate, they were not fortunate enough to fall in love with someone that could petition for them. Aside from a spousal visa, an immigrant visa is really hard to get for the common people with no out of the ordinary skills.

As a person who was brought here at age 10, and feel myself more American than anything else, I think this amnesty is going to give many young adults and kids that are in the same situation I was in a few years ago the opportunity to give back to the country that has given them so much. I am currently finishing my environmental engineering degree, and was able to do so just because I met and married a USC. If these wasn't the case I would still be illegal and not being able to fulfill my potential. I feel that I have as much to give and contribute, and love this country probably more than some of you guys that are just getting here after being raised somewhere else.

All I want to say is that for those of you who think that we didn't do it the legal way because we didn't want to, it not always true. Sometimes we didn't have a choice like you guys did, so consider yourselves blessed.

The age limit is 30.

Presumably the information obtained from the applications will enable the US Gov to track down and punish the parents who put their children in this situation.

This would be true justice. If those parents brought their children here for a better life, then let those parents continue to sacrifice for their children.

The "amnesty" and "it's a slap in the face to those who did it the legal way" arguments just went out the window. Adding to the back log? Are you serious? The applications of battered spouses and widowers being able to petition for themselves (when those laws went into effect and it resulted in a greater inflow of applications ) also "add to the back log" But we all KNOW it's the right thing to do. We cannot seriously be this selfish. Welcome to bureaucracy. Stuff takes time. headbonk.gif

What part of this is not amnesty,it doesn't give those kids legal status and ANY path to becoming legal is unclear? All they are doing is GIVING them a chance to WORK AND PAY TAXES, most importantly a WAY to put themselves through college. Excuse my language but WHAT the hell is the problem with that? Please, enlighten me.

Brilliant idea, let's go aheadand punish those awful parents who are doing everything they can to raise aspired business people, scientists, mathematicians, engineers, etc…Those so so horrible parents, that teach their children not to judge and to FIGHT for success with everything they've got... as little as it is. I wonder where that will take us. Oh, and those students probably have less speeding tickets than the average USC. And believe me, they do drive innocent.gif

Vip1, it does feel good to finally be acknowledged by the country you called HOME all along… and to be FINALLY able to contribute your skills and degree to it, doesn't it kicking.gif

Children?

Entered as children. Grew up here while staying out of trouble.... Made something of themselves.

Most are still kids, though. High school and college kids...

P.S. I don't know why they cut it off at age 31. headbonk.gif

So what age should they have cut it off?

There is no requirement to have gone to College or High School or have a clean record.

It will be interesting to see how many apply, USCIS have already stated they are expecting massive levels of fraud, so there is a comparison with VAWA.

1. Why should they cut it off at all?

2. ???? "6. That is why you have to provide documentation etc etc. This is a totally different case. It is to benefit the undocumented. What I do not understand is that they have come out and said that they will NOT use the data to go after the child smugglers, the very people who caused this situation.

There is such a thing as natural justice, and when you see things so far in breach of the concept it threatens the very foundation of society.
